While their husbands may be the ones in the Oval Office, first ladies have plenty of power of their own. In addition to playing hostess at one of the most famous residences in the world, America's first ladies have traditionally used their positions to shape policy, champion causes and help spark real change.
Two months into her husband's presidency, though, first lady Melania Trump is signaling her role will be much more subdued.
Though the first lady is viewed favorably by 52% of Americans — far higher than her husband's latest approval rating — Mrs. Trump has taken a hands-off approach in the Trump administration. Recent reports allege she's been "miserable" in her new role, which she made no public appearances for between Jan. 21 and Feb. 3.
"I expect her to be gracious when acting as first lady, but I would not be surprised if she limits herself to a minimal engagement with the role," Donald Trump biographer Michael D'Antonio told the Chicago Tribune....

Our lovely Melania’s first priority is her son.
This is a woman who could have hired a dozen nannies but chose to raise her own child. She herself takes Barron to school every morning. She’s been caught in candid photos before the election sans makeup (still gorgeous) taking Barron to school.
The First Lady has her priorities exactly right.

I’ve seen him post a perfectly age appropriate, innocent tweet and get hateful, profane responses. That’s the kind of “people” liberals are.

I never understood why so many first ladies in recent history felt that they were also voted into some position of power. I think that’s a totally false assumption on there part and one that is refreshingly changing with FLOTUS45.
I agree. All I’d like for her to do is to oversee the WH Christmas tree and be photographed in front of it. She does that, I’m happy!

OMG!! OMG!! She made no public appearances in a less-than-two-week time period. Oh... the humanity!! Whatever shall we do when a stay-at-home mother of a ten-year-old actually STAYS at home with her child for two weeks?
What has this got to do with Trump governing the nation? No wonder women’s ideas are not taken seriously with such triva being deemed important enough to write about. What a waste of space.

I'm sure they miss each other intensely...but they both know...that's the way it is.
Kennedy was quite ordinary in my book. And her voice drove me crazy.
