MAYSVILLE, Mo. (AP) _ A suspended northwest Missouri teacher has been charged with sexual misconduct with 10 teenage students.
Thirty-nine-year-old Rodney Thomas, of Cameron, was charged Tuesday in DeKalb County with 20 felonies, including statutory sodomy and sexual contact with a student. No attorney is listed for him in online court records.

The allegations appear transparent and difficult to prove. I expected him to have had sex with penile penetration of the vagina with the accusers. He’d better have a good lawyer.

Even before I read the story, I knew the teacher was a male.
A female teacher would have gotten a slap on the wrist.
Sounds a lot like Nifong, I'm seeing allegations, but no other proof other than the word of teenage girls.

You are exactly right. We have many, many examples. The teacher should have known better and is the adult.
having said that and the demeanor of Nasty women these days.....teenage girls are not all innocent and that kind of attention can be very tempting.
What I am saying is they know more than we did at that age. It is a different time, I went to Catholic school and can tell you there are things I did not know about until I was much older. So glad I had parents on me like white on rice.

This woman agrees. Teen-aged girls these days are much different than my cohort and I were in the 1960s. They have knowledge of — and experience in — sexual activities that I had not even heard of until well into adulthood.
Like you, I went to Catholic school and led a very sheltered life, for which I am most grateful.
Hopefully he gets locked up for a long time. But as other posters point out, when a 37 year old woman has sex with a 16 or 17 year old boy, its a big joke to most people, especially if the teacher is good looking. Imagine the absurdity of asking “Is he hot?” or “Where is the picture?” about this story. And the irony is that teenager girls are much more emotionally mature than teenage boys. So the idea that its OK for a 37 year old to have sex with a teenage boy but not a teenage girl is silly and damaging. Any 37 year old — man or woman — who has sex with a teenager — boy or girl — has mental problems and needs to be locked up and monitored.
You have a point there. All other teachers busted, male and female left a text history.
So far this one does not seem to have or at least they have not released it. This story just broke today so there may be more news to come.
Will be interesting to see if they prove this case or if it falls apart like Nifong.
