Five minutes of the cyberpunk story have been released online. Those unsure about how the live-action Ghost of the Shell will approach its cultural heritage need only watch a newly released five-minute clip from the movie to see that it fully embraces the "cyber"-ness of it all.

I recently saw “Through a Scanner, Darkly” and even though it had Woody Harrelson, and was a cartoon, it met my minimum standards.
Looks like standard fair.
While I’ve become a big fan of anime and its spinoffs, I am not going to spend any of my money on any movie featuring the execrable Scarlett Johansson.
I was never a fan of rotoscoping. I think it even gives me seizures.
But I will not watch the live-action movie for one main reason: Scarlett Johanssen, who plays the lead role of Maj. Motoko Kusanagi, spoke at the March for Womyn. Thus I am boycotting any movie in which she plays a role.
Why should I give my money to people who hate me?
Weird flick - but it had its moments.

The quality of a movie is inversely proportional to the number of ads for it that I see on television.

I just thought it would be a great genre for people who smoke pot from bongs.
Just having Johansson in it is a slap in the face to the lead character as portrayed in the anime series as far as I'm concerned, and not due to her not being Asian which is what the cognoscenti all had their panties in a wad over.
At least they don't have the Aflac duck (aka weeping Ben batman) as Bato.
