Word For The Day, Monday, 3/20/17
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
perfervid; adj.
very fervent; extremely ardent; impassioned: perfervid patriotism.
Etymology: C19: from New Latin perfervidus, from Latin per- (intensive) + fervidus fervid
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Here is my example with WFTD.
Their perfervid hatred of Trump has them batsh!t crazy.
No pushing at the door please!
good morning
The left combines stupid with nerve, it
Renders them wildly perfervid
After Hillary’s loss
They’re more angry and cross
Revenge—a cold dish when we serve it
EXCELLENT! A+++++
I have perfervid animosity for the constant audacious prevarications of Ryan and McConnel to the citizens of this country.
When i saw this word, I first thought of Anthony Weiner.
a fervent pervert indeed.
so much to be disgusted about. A+++
Trumps doing what Obama never did
Cutting programs that need to be rid
Hes in a haste
To cut the waste
With righteous zeal most perfervid
thank you, All! I love the poems. May they continue with their perfervid tones.
Lettuce hope their perfervid perverted relationship is never recorded on perfervideo.
A very useful but rarely used word.
Verve is excitable energy as in to be fevered. Perfervid borders on manic.
The out-of-control antics of anti-Trumpers are perfervid. More internalized perfervidity is experienced as high anxiety: being in love; being excited about President Trump’s presidency; excessive fretting over some significant event about to occur.
A really wonderful word.
The liberal perfervid attacks on Trump (and anyone left of Marx) shows they have no ability to think before they bleat.
love it! A++++
yikes
thanks! A++++
Sad!
I should add (rhetorically, of course) What kind of “bag” costs more than $2000? Is there ever a need for a bag costing $2000+?
