In late February the World War II Foundation announced that legendary New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick would narrate the groups latest documentary D-Day: Over Normandy, and the trailer is in (watch above).
Belichick is not known for his enthusiasm at news conferences and with media in general, but this project is different. The coachs father, Steve, served in World War II, and Bill grew up at the United States Naval Academy, where Steve coached and scouted for the football program.

I’ve read that one of Bill B’s hobbies is military history and strategy. That makes sense for a football coach, IMHO.
So that's why Peyton Manning shouted "Omaha" while for Brady it's "Luftwaffe"!
“Belichick is very probably the greatest coach/manager in the history of professional sports. But anyone who’s ever seen his press conferences knows that public speaking ain’t his favorite past time.”
Belichick is fine at public speaking. It is answering stupid questions from slimy dishonest reporters that he doesn’t like.
I wish more people would openly show their contempt for the media like coach Belichick does.
That’s because he hates...a seething, deep-seated revulsion...for the media. If Belichick was in a room with a gun, 3 bullets, and Mao, Stalin, and a Boston beat writer, he’s shoot the writer twice.
When you can get Bill to just talk straight-up Xs and Os football, he is articulate, confident and fascinating to listen to. I remember one of the years they got bounced early (the Jets or the Broncos in mid-2000s), ESPN had him on the Sunday NFL show to analyze the upcoming games and he was brilliant.
Yes, I’ve heard him sound very articulate. I think he just doesn’t exert himself to answer stupid, annoying, and/or repetitive types of questions. He doesn’t play the MSM’s games. The NFL would come down hard on him if he told them all to F-off all the time, so he just plays it cool and keeps his words to a minimum. He is one of the most refreshing people in all of public life.
My Dad worked with his Dad at the Naval Academy. I can still hear my Dad saying “That Belichick!” Don’t know if it was in disgust or admiration.
