Rich Wyatt, the star of American Guns, a once-popular Discovery Channel program that showcased him, his telegenic family, including wife Renee and kids Paige and Kurt, and his business, Wheat Ridge's Gunsmoke Guns, has been found guilty of conspiring to deal firearms without a license and multiple tax charges.
The verdict completes the fall of a once-prominent TV personality who rubbed shoulders with celebrities such as rock star Ted Nugent and even a former President of the United States, George W. Bush.
Pretty foolish so it's hard to feel bad for him. He was in the GUN BUSINESS for cryin' out load.
Might be of interest.
Here’s a suggestion to gun shops/smiths who think it might be a good idea to star in a reality show..... DONT!!!!
Between this guy and pedophile Will Hayden of Sons Of Guns it’s not a good thing to be on a show that the ATF can watch and look for inconsistencies that might be illegal. Especially since these shows were on during Obama’s ATF tenure.
BTW. Will Hayden is a big slimeball and I hope he gets life.
He had fun in gunrunning guns until he was the one that got stunned in an illegal deal done that he should have run from.
I never did know why he had his FFL pulled.
I enjoyed the program and the “scenery”, but how damn stupid can a person be!! He lost it all!! Buying 600k$ home on nominal salary(ies)!? Blooming idiot!
Great Freudian slip: “...for cryin’ out load.”
Yeah, he didn’t think it through.
oops
And now it turns out that his daughter, who said she was abused by him, was arrested along with her husband for abusing a child. WTH.
To those who say with their mouths that the 2nd amendment should be strictly interpreted, how then can you revel in the fall of someone simply doing what should not be regulated at all by the government?
“Shall not be infringed”, but it is okay to tax, regulate, license, register, control and ban?
Just because this guy rubbed people the wrong way, people celebrate and call him stupid that he is no imprisoned for something that the Federal government has no business infringing upon.
First they come for the “low hanging fruit”, but most gun owners comply instead of working to return the Federal government back into its Constitutional box. With just a few tweaks, the next “branch” will be harvested. The majority will still be safe.......until they are not.
A couple of the guys were ok that worked there. I bought a couple of consignment C+R guns that were reasonably priced, before the shop was on TV but I thought the new stuff was overpriced. The show never did much for me and maybe some of them got star struck.
Well, I get your point, but blatant tax evasion and selling guns after they pull your FFL will get you tons of unwanted attention in the real world. Ripping off an old man for his expensive firearms collection doesn’t help you lay low.
So. Did he have a FFL or not?
Matches my impression. They didn’t really want to be bothered if you weren’t there to spend a few grand. Richie never really came across as a good guy.
Haven’t been able to get Peter Boyles for some time, wonder what he thinks of all this.
Apparently they pulled his ticket.
Trash.
Boyles was over at 710KNUS last I knew. I never heard him talk about it, but I haven’t been able to listen to Boyles except via podcast. lately.
Yeah, can’t get the 710 signal up here in Gods country. At least we get KOA and some local country station.
