A Connecticut mom allegedly let her 10-year-old son drive her car while she streamed it on Facebook Live.

Lisa Nussbaum, of Monroe, was charged on Friday with risk of injury or impairing morals of a minor.

Nussbaum, 38, was released the same day, after promising to appear at the Superior Court in Bridgeport, Connecticut, one week later.

Monroe police said they arrested Nussbaum after several residents reported having seen a Facebook Live broadcast showing a child driving a car on public roads throughout the town of about 20,000.

Lisa, Lisa, Lisa!
Your first mistake was letting your 10 y/o son drive.
Your next (and much bigger) mistake was posting in online for the world to enjoy.

If it was a choice between her and the 10 year old driving, I’d say the safer bet was the 10 year old.

One of my dad’s favorite stories was back on the farm he’d have by brother and sister drive the grain truck. Sis would be up on the seat doing the steering, and my brother would be on his hands and knees operating the clutch, brake and gas pedals.

I have a picture of sis driving a tractor to school at about age 12 or so.

I first drove a full size tractor at age 9. A loaded gravel/dump truck at age 14. Got a job at 16 driving a commercial grain truck with no drivers license.

So really, what’s wrong with this lady breaking in the 10 year old????

My first thought also. If it were an Illinois Farm kid he’d already have driven a tractor that weighed and cost ten times what that car does.

When I and my siblings were 10, We were driving the car up and down the driveway. It’s what our parents allowed us to do. We weren’t to go in the road and we obeyed that rule. It taught us all how to drive. Posting on Facebook was dumb.

Some of the things us country folks did as kids would have big city libtards stroking out.

I’m glad my dad didn’t have Facebook Live when he taught me to drive at age 12.

That really depends on the location and why. For instance, letting a young kid drive around in the country on your property, not a big deal, albeit illegal. However letting a kid drive around on city roads is a very bad idea and still illegal.

For instance, there is a kid in my city-neighborhood that can’t be more than 13. His parents originally were letting him drive the neighborhood in a golf cart. That was something I did at his age with friends but out in the country on private property, grass. Now they gave him a dirt bike he drives late, while dark with no light turned on... at high speeds and I am pretty sure he doesn’t understand stop signs. I think that illuminates an issue right there....

“depends on the location and why”

Agreed, and also era. When I was young, a farm kid could drive a full size grain truck to the grain elevator, right past the cops, and barely be a teenager.

Today there are kids on jet skis and snowmobiles that are less than 13 yo. They make very small ATV’s just for that market.

But this all boils down to location. I live in a verrrry red state.
