Madonna celebrated International Womens Day Wednesday by releasing a short film titled Her-Story: Women Who Fight For Freedom.
The 12-minute black-and-white video was directed by fashion photography duo Luigi & Iango in collaboration with Vogue Germany.
The video montage is broken into eight different chapters, each showing scenes of the singer smoking cigarettes in a foggy alley, engaging in choreographed dance sequences, and unfurling a large banner with a message that reads: We should all be feminist.
The video, which is dedicated to all women who fight for freedom, also features sound bites from Madonnas controversial speech last month at the anti-Donald Trump Womens March in Washington, D.C.
Welcome to the revolution of love, to our refusal as women to accept this new age of tyranny, where not just women are in danger, but all marginalized people, where being uniquely different might truly be considered a crime. The revolution starts here, Madonna is heard saying.
The 58-year-old pop icons release of Her-Story coincided with the release of an open letter honoring International Womens Day, which Madonna signed.

The Left gets crazier and crazier - and their candidates and voters follow along.
She knocked out all those lewinskys already good lord
So when the left forces middle America to accept their wacko values and the cost of our own, it’s not tyranny?
“***The revolution starts here, Madonna is heard saying. ***”
Hell Yeah!!!
You are woman, I hear you roar.
Viva la Revolution!!!
“Welcome to the revolution of love, to our refusal as women to accept this new age of tyranny, where not just women are in danger, but all marginalized people, where being uniquely different might truly be considered a crime. The revolution starts here, Madonna is heard saying.
Boy, this gnarly hag is sure full of herself, isn’t she?
Ah, virtue signaling from a woman known for fishnets, flashy one pieces with cone boobs, and suggestive dancing.
I think I’ll pass on putting her love to the test, baby.
Shut up and stick to music, oh wait, you’re not even good at making music anymore either. Carry on with adopting more black kids from Africa because you are doing so well with the kids of your own and thinking an awful lot about blowing up the White House.
... Devil in a blue dress....
She has only 1.47 million Twitter followers now.
She's trying to hack it like it was still thirty years ago. She's holding on to her Eighties glory days and as a consequence she's denied herself growth as a real artist. People like David Bowie, Annie Lennox, even actors like Paul Newman... they weren't afraid to grow older. Indeed to them age became an opportunity to get even BETTER at their craft.
And then there are those like Michael Jackson, so fixated on holding onto their youth that it cost them REAL fulfilling life. Abundant life. Sometimes clinging onto their past to the bitter end.
Madonna is almost sixty years old. She was brilliant thirty years ago. Even into the Nineties. But she refused to let go and allow herself to grow and change and evolve not just as an artist but as a person.
Harboring this kind of public bitterness, is her attempting to compensate for her loss. She's trying to hold onto relevancy that is now beyond her grasp. She COULD have had relevancy still, and become something far greater than she ever had been before. But it's too late now.
And the more she does stuff like this the more she loses what respect is still left to her.
Lets define what women ‘fighting for freedom’ actually means. Western women like Madonna are free as a bird and she pretty much does what she damn pleases her selfish lil heart desires. How come these lefty women dont take up the cause for oppressed women in the middle east and other Turd World poverty dumps? Not impressed.
If she/they would say the same things concerning ISIS I would concede the point. But as it is she/they are so blinded by their own hate and paranoia I suppose that would be too much to hope for.
The 1980’s called. They’re storing her relevance until she comes and picks it up.
Give it a rest, woman.
You and the rest of the nazis need to address the terrible plight of African women and those in the Muslim countries.
Going to Mecca and preaching women’s rights to Saudis would be the proper course if you smoulder for justice. South African women are raped and infected at horrendous numbers. Work on the water shortages in South American countries among the poor.
All that, I could understand.
It’s a sign of cowardice and sanctimonious cant preaching for rights YOU ALREADY HAVE, HAVE NOT LOST AND NEVER WILL.
She’s destroying Rocco, who thinks his mom is garbage.
Though to be fair, whose mom didn’t offer oral sex to every man in the united states at least one time?
Yeah...Madonna is the first person I think of when it comes to government and world affairs. /s
Attack of the 50 foot woman was pretty good sci fi...
