Question I bet NO ONE in media will ask about Oscar's Best Picture Award this year

Last year the Academy, liberal to the CORE, was attacked with "Oscars so White"...a pathetic excuse for people with no life to get worked up....

The call for affirmative action on the voters, etc. in Hollyweird was heard. Changes were promised.

So THIS year, a director's first movie, about a black homosexual, WINS.

Look, maybe it WAS the Best Picture of all last year. Maybe. But could this be the effect of Hollywood's Guilty Feelings from last year?

As disinterested as I am, its no surprise. It’s been a while since I cared about a Hollywood film.

I see I am not the only one on FR who is seeing this as a possibility. My question is if anyone in the media or the film critic biz will speak out.

Probably not, they’re too afraid to do so. Being called racist/homophobic for not thinking Moonlight was spectacular.

We have not had TV since 1997 but we watch a lot of movies and own a lot. However, last year there ware only a few worth watching and we found that by december we had gotten in the habit of just watching what we already own. We’ve not watched a new movie since and have gotten kinda bored with the whole thing.

I have no idea what movies are even available now, nor have I heard of a movie about a negro sexual pervert. I certainly would have no desire to watch such a movie.

My take is black people would be pissed - picking a homo thing, upstages the black thing.

Deciding which movie is best is like deciding which “element” is best - earth, wind, water or fire. Who really knows such things.

Ah yes, perfect!
BLM will proclaim the White Jew Hollywood Patriarchy only chose the black movie because it showed oppression of homos, which are higher up on the oppression scale.
HLM beats BLM!...fun to watch SJW politics...

Hollywood has devolved into a politically correct cesspool of fools. It’s so obvious that this flick was chosen in response to last year’s protests, but it wasn’t a difficult choice for them. It hit all the right categories - gay, black, etc. These people are so out of touch with mainstream America that it’s become comical. What’s even funnier is how these geniuses want to tell us how to think, vote and order our lives, but they can’t even run an award show that gives the shitty awards to the candidates they’ve chosen. What buffoons.

May I sincerely ask; What does SJW stand for? I’ve seen it much since the election, but have not seen the acronym defined anywhere. Thanks in advance.

It's not only that minorities were over represented. Hidden Figures dramatized for political correctness a historical drama (ie: the gals didn't have to use segregated bathrooms). It was in spite of that an inspirational story of female black mathematicians who were an integral part of the success of the early space programs. It was about three gals who got it done without needing affirmative action or special breaks. When one needed to take a course in a previously segregated program, she didn't cause a riot or chaos. She asked.

So what did Hollywood do? Snub this wonderful true-life story about black women who didn't need affirmative action, rioting in the streets, or a special set of rules to accomplish great things.

Who REALLY cares what those phony people do? IMO, The “Oscar’s” are nothing more than a glitzy gathering of phonies patting each other on the back for syphoning money away from those who wish to be mesmerized about a fantasy world. Simply a waste of time and someone’s money.

Probably all of the racist, agenda-driven scenes.

That’s how Obama sailed through eight years “scandal free”.
