Neilson Rizzuto's blood-alcohol content was measured at .232 after he plowed into 32 spectators at Saturday night's Krewe of Endymion parade, according to a New Orleans police arrest report obtained Sunday (Feb. 26) by The Times-Picayune.
The report said Rizzuto's breathalyzer results -- showing impairment nearly three times the state's legal limit of .08 to operate a motor vehicle -- were obtained Saturday at 8:36 p.m., one hour and 54 minutes after the crash that sent 23 injured people to local hospitals after they were strewn about the intersection of Orleans and North Carrollton avenues.
Rizzuto, a 25-year-old from Paradis, initially was booked Sunday with two counts of first-degree negligent vehicular injuring, hit-and-run driving causing serious injury and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. Additional or alternate charges are possible after case evidence is screened by District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro's office in the coming weeks.
The two felony counts of first-degree negligent vehicular injuring -- punishable by up to five years in state prison -- are attributed to two seriously injured victims cited in the report.
One is a 22-year-old New Orleans East woman, whom the arrest documents said is in critical condition with a lacerated liver and other internal injuries to her abdomen.

Rizzuto's arrest documents said the driver "struck a known total of 32 pedestrians, 23 of which were transported to area hospitals with varying degrees of injury. At the time of arrest, the remaining victims are still receiving medical care and have not been identified."

That .BAC sure measured a lot of Hurricane drinks. And bingo on those vulture lawyers going after the city since they have deeper taxpayer money than that kid could ever earn in his lifetime.
Okay, not a kid but I get your point.
Light weight I walked into an ER with a .37 bac two days after my last drink
I'm sure they will. Can't have drunk drivers messing up one of the major yearly cash cows.
In other words, testing found blood in his alcohol stream.

How many that blow 0.06 have these types of wrecks?
I used to work the midnight-8AM shift in a big city ER.We used to get your kind in on a regular basis. We'd break out the leather restraints, draw an ethanol level and notify housekeeping to have a mop nearby.
And then there were the seizures....
Some countries have set their blood alcohol limit as zero. That’s 0.00. You wanna drink? Then don’t drive. You wanna drive? Then don’t drink. Good idea, IMO.
Alcohol is a mass killer...These folks were very lucky.
I was blessed no seizures no uncontrolled bodily fluids my sister took me and i went to detox and rehab been sober since april 6 2001 I wrote the beeber thread sober scary No restraints either
Two blocks down however the state police had other ideas.
I also worked an intersection with two cops. On worked with us and one sat in the patrol car and drank a case of beer. In his defense though he probably lost his house and hadn't been paid in over 45 days.
Good times, good times.
Yes it looked like a cartoon character in a garden hose
LOL!

No specific charge for DWI? The charges listed could stand by themselves if he wasn’t drunk, and we all know that charging DWI doesn’t require injury or damages.
I worked at a small County jail for a couple of years part of our duty was to do our own preliminary breath test at the jail. They brought a guy in once that blew a .6 I couldn’t believe it but when I PBT him myself our machine agreed he did blow a .6
I always hear that a BAC at around .30 is fatal in most people.
