Don’t fire them, yet. Request resignations, then do not accept them from the good ones. Accept them from the bad or questionable ones and replace them.

No l don’t think he has. I think Bush got rid of a couple all hell broke loose. Clinton fired all day of em ...crickets. So if Sessions started cleaning house we would know count on it.

There has not been much coverage, but it is customary for all of them to offer their resignation to the incoming President. When the incoming administration picks their replacement (if they have not left already) they leave. It is normally a polite process.

I would expect news about the selections (largely made by Sessions?) in the coming weeks. However, the media is completely obsessed with the hysteria stories regarding Trump so I don’t know how much attention the new U.S. Attorneys will get nationally.

Near the start of their first terms, all presidents since Nixon (IIRC, maybe Carter or Reagan), GWB included, "fired" nearly all the US Attorneys.

Bush was criticized for firing a mess of them at the start of his 2nd term, and if you look at that, it is hard to tell exactly who fired them, or why.

The Obama appointed US attorneys still have not been fired. what the hell is taking so long? When Obama took over, he terminated Bush US Attorneys in no time flat. Why is it taking so long to drain the swamp?
All these people have in mind is to destroy Trump’s presidency.

Hmmmmm ..?? I wonder if the new boss informed all the attorneys to keep their mouths shut.

Which is only appropriate because they are going to be dealing with possibly some very, very touchy subjects .. and it’s not the job of the attorneys to discuss it in public.

The U.S. Attorneys don’t mind. Once you have this on your resume you are pretty much guaranteed less work and more money as a senior partner with a big firm. It looks awfully good on the resume of any law firm to have a former U.S. Attorney on board.
