A photo of Ivanka Trump casting what appears to be a meaningful gaze at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has prompted fevered speculation on social media over what might have been going through Ms Trump's mind.
The photo was taken on Monday during a roundtable discussion about women in the workforce, for which Ivanka "helped recruit participants and set the agenda", as AP reports.
During Mr Trudeau's visit to the White House Canada and the US announced a joint task force to help women in the workplace, looking at issues such as childcare and maternity leave.
However, with a level of seriousness a cynic might say is rather typical of social media, Twitter users focused on the (entirely imaginary) budding romance between the Canadian Prime Minister and the First Daughter.
The photos was picked up on by Trevor Noah, host of the The Daily Show, who commented during Monday evening's programme: "She looks like she’s ready to risk it all. She looks like she’s considering dressing up as a Syrian refugee just so Canada will take her in, like, ‘Let me in, Justin!'
“And I get it, because Ivanka is an attractive, vibrant young woman," he continued, speaking over a photo of Donald Trump's cabinet: "And ever since her dad became president, have you seen the men she has to hang out with? Look at these guys!”

So now the media has come down to the level of “we’re going to take a picture of you, then read what we think is in your mind and then criticize you for it.”
To me, though, it looks like she’s looking at the photographer.
Fake news, indeed.
This is just ‘sick’.
In the first pic, she was looking past him. In the others, she was politely smiling.
He’s probably a charming guy. And they were there at a happy, productive event that was her brainchild. I am sure she was pleased that he and the Canadian businesswomen came to the roundtable.
And I’m sure if people looked hard enough, they could see her smiling just as beautifully as the women guests.
They are both happily married. This is “fake news.” Nothing to see here.

Because as stupid as it is, we here on FR need to know about.
FR is my primary source of news -- not that there aren't others, but it's the first place I go every day to catch up what's going on.
And I, for one, appreciate knowing about the good, the bad and the ugly. It's a tough world, and we can't live in denial.
The media needs to get their noses out of their rear ends. Not everyone interprets “looking” at someone ...as that person desiring a sexual liaison. Such cheap shots.

I have to agree. The story is utter bullsh!t.
So who are Trudeau and the woman sitting next to Ivanka “gazing” at? IMHO, Trevor needs to give the recreational drugs a little rest.
