Spinal Tap has reunited — this time in a Los Angeles court to challenge the French studio Vivendi S.A. for millions in profits from the mockumentary “This Is Spinal Tap.”

Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Rob Reiner on Tuesday joined a federal lawsuit filed last year by bandmate and Spinal Tap co-creator Harry Shearer.

One of the finest movies ever made. Wouldn’t think Shearer or Guest need the cash, but of course that probably means they can afford good lawyers and clear this up for the rest of the cast.

I’m not a big fan of Rob Reiner but Spinal Tap is a fun movie that still makes me smile decades later.

One of my favorite movies.
The only band I know that opened for themselves.

It’s not whether he needs the cash but whether someone else is entitled to his money.

Hollywood profits? You are dealing with corporate accounting which makes Congress look clean. If a movie makes money, rather than shifting all possible profits get routed to various other divisions and subsiaries, then the accountants have failed. If you ever work for a movie, count on nothing other than the wekly paychecks you have already received.

Meathead has had a lot of success producing. He needs to keep his mouth shut when it comes to politics.

I invested in a gold mining company once and found out how that works. You pay for the discovery work and equipment and if they strike gold, you’ll be RICH!!!

However, this is how it works: If they find nothing, you lose your money. If they actually get a big strike, they sell it cheap to a “new company” and you might get a cent or two on the dollar, while the “new company” makes all the profit. Sadly, you are not an investor in that company.

But it was a very cheap lesson for me. $100.00

I’m surprised actors such as Rob Reiner were part of a deal that didn’t pay off royalties in a proper manner. As the son of Mr. Sit-Com., Carl Reiner, you’d think Rob would know to hire a good money manager. Sometimes, when you do a lot of different jobs, you just don’t pay close attention to getting all the i’s dotted and the t’s crossed.

Can I raise a practical question at this point? Are we going to do “Stonehenge” tomorrow?
