Good grief! They’re all going to look like that dreadfully ‘exciting’ Pro Bowl game.
TRULY a war and a war of kings.
Boys learn to be tough under tough DI types and learn to keep going even though they hurt .... something a man learns as he matures and "does life" responsible for other human beings (wife and family).
THAT'S why public school produces so many snowflakes ... you think THOSE guys are gonn'a grow up and be working class heroes ?
Not evah !
No building blocks, no tools, no ability to learn and think.
Oddly it may be all the protective gear that brings about the damage. If those players had no pads or helmets it’d be a different game.

Coming soon: The SFB, or Super Flag-football Bowl.
back in early 1900’s football was nearly banned by Teddy Roosevelt because of many deaths in the sport(b4 protective gear). The reaction to prevent the banning, the NCAA.
Which is the goal. Most of the world loves soccer, we are the aberrations.
and don’t start tackle football around 7th or 8th grade. These peewee leagues just help develop bad technique.

....so how does the azzhole feel about boxing where the ultimate object is to send the opposition so far into next week he has to take a bus back to tomorrow?

IMO, the issue is the 20+ oz. added to the padded gloves.
Bring back fisticuffs! No padding and, I believe, way less permanent damage.
>We havent even come close to Ultimate Fighting....
Well, there you bring in knees, legs...I think it more akin to the boxing of old than anything else.
What are the statistics regarding injuries to boys 13 and under due to tackling while playing football?
They can easily make far better head protection for the head and brain to reduce the number of concussions and long term football brain injuries.
The problem is it would not look like a football helmet, it would be a single head and shoulder pads unit combined to absorb the shock.
How many die from “football?” How many die in automobiles? Let’s get our heads around the numbers.
Obama: As the president said, if your actions result in only saving one life, they're worth taking.
Of course that doesn't apply to the children in the womb...
Good point and those stats I do not know. However I believe the issue with concussions in football is that the effects are both cumulative and exponential over a player's career.
Rugby players tackle without helmets or pads. No downfield blocking, player with the ball is pretty much on his own. Players who are even suspected of having a head injury are sent off of the field for head injury assessment. High tackles hitting the head are penalized. Game is still fun to watch.
I can see some type of crushable plush helmet/shoulder harness might help some. But I don’t see how any sort of helmet will stop the brain from having a sudden change in direction if the body has a sudden change in direction. I mean, you don’t have to necessarily hit your head to be susceptible to the effects of repetitively jarring your brain, any sudden change in direction is going to take your brain for a ride too.
