In an early test of President Trump's so-called "Muslim ban," a federal judge in Seattle ruled Friday to halt enforcement of parts of Trumps week-old executive order on immigration. U.S. District Judge James Robart ruled on a motion by the state of Washington for a temporary restraining order halting the parts of the order that block entry to the U.S. by refugees and certain immigrants from some Muslim-majority countries. Robart's ruling will temporarily halt enforcement of several provisions of Trump's controversial executive order. Attorneys for the federal government are expected to appeal the ruling. Fridays was the first hearing in Washington states lawsuit filed Monday against Trump; state Attorney General Bob Ferguson argues the order is discriminatory and illegal. Amazon and Expedia filed declarations in support of Washingtons case, and the state of Minnesota moved to join the case Wednesday. Following the ruling, Ferguson said Robart's decision will provide immediate relief to those targeted in Trump's order. "I'm certain the president will not like this decision," Ferguson said. "But it is his job, it is his obligation to honor it, and I'll make sure he does."

How many judges had failed to stop this legal action so far.
Now I have a new tagline when I reply to a post about news that never happened, so it doesn't qualify as fake news.
What sickens me more is the Enemedia's running with totally FALSE NARRATIVES about the righteousness of this ruling and it's nationwide authority.. That Trump LOST another one, BLAH BLAH BLAH DE-EFFING BLAH..
IAW the Constitution THIS IS THE PRESIDENT'S AUTHORITY AND ONLY HIS AUTHORITY AND NO ONE ELSE'S!
Also, the term 'BAN' that the Enemedia is cramming down our throats. TRUMP'S ORDER IS NOT A BAN, DAMNIT!!!
Nice how SFgayt calls it a Muslim ban.
Robart’s ruling will temporarily halt enforcement of several provisions of Trump’s controversial executive order.”
Go ahead, you traitorous fascist black robe, and cite the part of the US Constitution that allows you to nullify presidential executive orders. This fascist “judge” needs to be dragged into the street and charged with sedition.
Why Oklahoma?
Just ignore it.
Stop all international flights in our out of SeaTac.
Close the customs office.
They don’t want to enforce federal immigration laws?
They don’t get no stinking Federal customs officers.
That should end this silliness in a day or two.
Not Oklahoma! Take them to Nevada. Alternatively bulid a federal holdng are in Seattle and keep them there.
Fox News seems to believe the Judge’s order is real. They’ve been reporting it for hours. Trump needs to appeal this now to a ‘Circus’ Court of Appeals.
You are right and the libs judge shopped to get it into the 9th circus for appeals.
Right, so he needs to wait until Gorsuch is appointed to make the final appeal.
Government moves slowly, businessman Trump wants to move quickly. But victory will be had by mid-April, one way or the other.
The big problem right now is that Congress is delaying the economic recovery packages (taxes, etc.). The good effects (jobs) will take time to kick in, and mid-terms are only 2 years away.
Issue another order. And, if Customs agents or border agents do not comply, they will be relieved of their duties and/or terminated.
Reagan had to confront the air traffic controllers. Trump needs to let his agencies know who is in control. Otherwise, we will see orders from judges supporting idiocy from the DOJ, EPA, education, BLM and other leftist rogue agencies.
Ultimately, government workers take orders from the president. The judge has no power to order individual workers if they are relieved of their duty.
The threads were posted virtually at the same time.
They are two different articles from two different sources about the same issue.
Free Republic is all about different points of view on the same subject.
That’s why.
You have just merged this thread with the other one.
Now someone could go to the other thread and merge it with this one.
That way everyone can look at all the comments on this subject.
Seattle is better.
