MOM, DAD, BABY DAUGHTER, ALL SHARE SAME BIRTHDAY
ABC11 ^ | Friday, January 27, 2017

A Wake County couple is counting their blessings while also working through their disbelief. Michael and Lisa Hall's daughter was born on the same day as both of their birthdays.

"We're just as shocked as everybody else," said Lisa Lowe-Hall.

Newborn London Hall was born on January 27. She shares a birthday with mom and dad. The chances of this happening are one in 48 million.

"It's the best birthday gift I think either one of us could have," said Lowe-Hall. "I think it is crazy that I have the same birthday as my husband and now to have my daughter's birthday the same day is extremely special."

London was due January 26. There were complications during labor and doctors at Rex Hospital decided to do a C-section.

London was delivered around 3 a.m. Friday morning.

"She is 6 pounds 7 ounces," explained mom. "Just to have my first child and it's a little girl, I really wanted a little girl really badly, so just to have her, and to have her healthy, is the main thing."

The Guinness Book of World Records used to list the odd’s of this happening, not sure if they still do. I took an interest because I was born on my Mom’s birthday and my brother, my daughter and grandmother all share the same birthday - kinda cool.

The chances of this happening are one in 48 million.

Actually since the Mom and Dad had the same birthday at the time of their marriage (odds of that occurring randomly would only be 1 in 365) the chances that their baby having the same date of birth (assuming they didn't plan the pregnancy to increase those odds) would only be 1 in 365.

Not quite a miracle. Just a coincidence.

Might London Hall one day get to meet Paris Hilton?

My brother, and I, plus my Mom were born in the same month. My childhood friend also had the same month and we were all apart by mere days. It got crazier as i got older because of the parties..

Congratulations to everybody listed in this thread.

My wife, our daughter-in-law, and grand-daughter (different daughter-in-law) all share the same birthday, August 28.

I read somewhere back in January (and maybe it was here in Albuquerque) that twins were born in two different years. The first was about 11:45 PM in 2016 and the second around 12:05 AM in 2017. Now that will be hard to set the parties up including the Happy New Year.

And the odds could be tightened up significantly if they had planned the conception based on the expected birth date.

Interesting.
Some members of my family are all born on the same day (llth) of 4 consecutive months.

That’s one way to look at it. But I don’t think that’s the odds they are talking about. ^_^

Technically the odds of that happening on a random basis are only 133,235 to 1. Certainly not 48 million to one.

My parents had 5 children. Their 2nd was born on their 2nd wedding anniversary (yes, that’s right, 2nd).

Beat me to it. Its a ridiculous mistake to make in such an article. Even in puff pieces the quality just goes down hill.

Am I figuring the probability right? My calculator shows 365^2 = 133,225.
