At least 100,000 visas have been revoked in a single week in response to President Trump's executive immigration order, a lawyer for the Justice Department revealed in court Friday.
The number came to light in a Virginia courtroom as a federal judge granted the state's motion to join a lawsuit challenging the immigration ban that caused chaos at airports over the weekend.
"The number 100,000 really sucked the air out of my lungs," said Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg of the Legal Aid Justice Center, who represents two brothers from Yemen who were detained after arriving at Dulles Airport on Saturday and filed the original lawsuit that Virginia just joined.
Attorney Erez Reuveni, from the DOJ's Office of Immigration Litigation, announced the staggering number after Judge Leonie Brinkema pressed for the number of people who were detained and sent back from airports

100,000 fewer muzzies in the country?
That is called a great day.
100,000 from 7 countries? Not even the UK nor canada could come up with those numbers. Fake news.
Winning.
Yes!!!
I’d say winning except that number is complete bull squat!
“Reportedly” = FAKE NEWS
Just the headline smacks of fake news.
Very regrettable, Simon. No hard feelings, but can we get you to sign a do-not-resuscitate order for the next time this happens?
The United States State department under Obama/Clinton established a long pattern of being very reckless with National Security. For example, years passed before anyone addressed the very serious security breaches of TOP SECRET documents on Clinton’s home email server. And this example is just the very tip of the iceberg of sloppy security procedures by them. If the safeguards on handling documents that would put National Security in grave danger were so sloppoly handled then just imagine how unclassified documents and processes such as those for processing visas were handled under their administration. Now we have over 100K visas from countries which Obama’s team said are of particular concern and these were processed under these sloppy security procedures. These are countries where people are put to death for being religious minorities or sympathizing with LBGT. And quite importantly is the large presence of terrorist organizations having safe harbor or state sponsorship in each of these countries. Therefore we must ensure that proper vetting procedures are put in place for each of these individuals before we allow them to visit or stay in the United States.
Fake. Justice making it up. Those 7 countries have very low visa workloads. No way that many K1 visas. By the way, I’m sure the visas were revoked even for holders who have already entered the US. State just went into their system and revoked all visas with a current valid date.
A start.
Good!

French president: Louvre attack was of a “terrorist nature”
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/french-president-louvre-attack-was-of-a-terrorist-nature/
“Sources told CBS News the man had an Egyptian passport with the name Abdalla Reda El Rafaie EL Hamahni. A French prosecutor said the attacker was a UAE resident who came to Paris on a tourist visa on Jan. 26.”
The state department says less than 60,000 but clarified that 100,000 number reflects exempted diplomat visas and expired visas.
The lawyer should be fired. I think he deliberately used the hirer number for effect. If not deliberate to spike the case then he is incompetent to use conflated numbers mixing effected visas with unaffected visas.
hirer = higher (hangs head in shame)
Read another story that reported the DOJ is now saying 60,000 visas revoked, walking back the 100,000 number.
