Am I the only one to notice this?
I had an appointment canceled so I was in a local sports bar. I noticed the homeless guy who had replaced the previous homeless guy on the street corner with a sign. I always joked that it must be an union job as they seem to have limited hours and worked shifts. A few stop and give him change. Eventually, a young woman approaches and gives him a wad of money larger than a coffee mug. He passes her a bag. They talk a little. She leaves. He panhandles another few minutes and leaves. About 30 minutes later, this happens again with another homeless person.
Since then I have watched these people closer. Always similar undertakings.
Now I am no cop and have very little knowledge of the underworld, but if I can figure this out, what is wrong with law enforcement? I am convinced that a large portion of the homeless are involved in some sort of nefarious activity.
Drug dealings for sure.
Almost all homeless are there because they have mental problems, have drug/alcohol problems, or, most commonly, a combination of both.
Were you born yesterday? KIDDING!!!
But yeah. You’re right. Homelessness, drug addiction, povery, crime and more is just a symptom of the liberalism run amok in our cities.
yes
“Now I am no cop and have very little knowledge of the underworld, but if I can figure this out, what is wrong with law enforcement?”
The cops can’t be everywhere, but citizens are everywhere. Call crime stoppers and give them a tip. A cell phone photo might help.
evidently, that’s the way the gov. likes it.
I wonder how many of the homeless that you see on the street are actually drug dealers who pretend to be homeless in order to cover for their illegal activity?
Most of the cops I know would probably love to get paid to sit around in a sports bar all afternoon watching for any criminal activity.
You are responsible for you own neighborhood. Call the cops and tell them what you saw. They will act on it, if they aren't already aware. Cops depend on observant, responsible, concerned citizens to do their job.
I had a neighbor that was selling heroin. I put up an internet camera and gave the cops the password. They loved it.
My guess is they aren’t “homeless”...The look is part of their “cover”....They are drug dealers, plain and simple....
Exactly...You beat me to it....
Some portion of panhandlers are fakes who make a good income from begging. It stands to reason that some of these also deal drugs. It’s a much more effective cover than saggy pants and bling, particularly in areas where the hoodrat look stands out like a sore thumb but nobody looks twice at the bums.
if I can figure this out, what is wrong with law enforcement?
The homeless are selling the drugs the cops confiscated from people in traffic stops. Happens all day long here in Los Angeles
Where else can you see a blatant and expected exchange of money in public.
Most of the "HOMELESS" are not truly homeless, but part of a larger organization, whereby
they almost always have backpacks !
they are almost always transported by SUV to their locations (unless they have a bike)
and they are rotated and replaced by other HOMELESS"
to continue their 'shift' at other locations.
In Florida, they did an expose , and found they make approximately $36,000 per year, tax free !!
This has to be a RICO racket !
“But yeah. Youre right. Homelessness, drug addiction, povery, crime and more is just a symptom of the liberalism run amok in our cities.”
Just wait for the media to start reporting on the homeless epidemic. We haven’t had a homeless problem since 2009, damn near 8 years. I expect it will be a yuge problem again very shortly. Funny how that works.
Don’t let them catch you catching them in the act!
They may ‘suddenly wish to speak with you’.
Just memorize the time, location and general appearance of the guilty parties.
Every morning on my way to work, I see panhandlers at various places ... typically at high-traffic intersections.
All have signs stating “homeless” or “hungry” or “traveling, need money”.
One thing that stands out is that all of these panhandlers (both male and female in their late 20s/ early 30s) all had nice shoes. One even had a healthy looking dog and a rather decent backpack (probably filled with tissue paper for effect). They all look like your typical, “hippiesque” coffee shop dwellers.
There is NO way these people are really homeless ... something is certainly amiss ... but they’re out there almost every day begging for handouts and getting them.
Book ‘em, Danno.
“Almost all homeless are there because they have mental problems, have drug/alcohol problems, or, most commonly, a combination of both.”
Are you aware they almost 50% of opioid addicts became addicted using Dr. prescribed drugs? That’s the real shame in all of this...
I talked to a homeless man this morning and asked him how he ended up this way.
He said, “Up until last week, I still had it all. I had plenty to eat, my clothes were washed and pressed, I had a roof over my head, I had TV and Internet, and I went to the gym, the pool, and the library. I was working on my MBA on-line. I had no bills and no debt. I even had full medical coverage.”
I felt sorry for him, so I asked, “What happened? Drugs? Alcohol? Divorce?”
“Oh no, nothing like that,” he said. “I was paroled.”
