Hardball host Chris Matthews was on edge Tuesday night as he awaited President Trump’s Supreme Court pick, grimly staring into the camera with an apocalyptic warning that Trump “is, tonight, conducting a campaign of shock and awe against this country’s institutions” putting Washington “on defense.”
“Donald Trump is, tonight, conducting a campaign of shock and awe against this country’s institutions. He is on offense in a capital city not used to being suddenly thrown on defense,” Matthews began in his opening diatribe.
Not acknowledging the fact that Trump was elected to shake up Washington, Matthews appeared uneasy that the President has the capital city “suddenly bound up in fear, rage, and unbalance, wondering if this new President accepts any limit to his power.”

DONATE Matthews continued with rhetoric questions for his fearful audience hiding under their covers:
Is he ready to attack the media, mock the Democratic leader of the Senate, accuse the acting-Attorney General of betrayal, seize power over immigration, and push the Republican Congress to near the breaking point? The answer to all of these questions is a resounding yes. He is and he is.
Turning to the Supreme Court announcement, Matthews whined that “Trump will name as the decisive member of the United Supreme Court, the only branch of government he has yet to grab control” amidst “the political and legal chaos in the wake of President Donald Trump’s executive order of last Friday.”

I saw a survey about whether people trust CNN or msnbc, etc.
It was at BEST a slightly left site and they distrusted them by 4 to 1.
Matthews’ leg tingle has turned into a stabbing, burning pain.

DC has been playing single A ball for so many years, and here comes a major leaguer who’s running circles around them and threatening to put an end to their little monopoly. Good. About damn time. Both Republicans and Democrats have been treating our federal government as their own fiefdom and personal treasury for way too long. I hope the DC idiots are running scared. They’re long overdue for a major league comeuppance!

DC and the surrounding environs should be living in terror at the thought they might actually receive retribution for all the money they have stolen from the people over the years.
For some odd reason, the seat of government is one of the most wealthy areas in the nation.
The string of shock events that Trump is throwing them is epic. They are having a hard time staying enraged at any one thing. I am actually enjoying politics again.

What's he talking about? For decades, Republicans have ALWAYS been thrown on defense. This is the first time in my adult life that Democrats are actually the ones on defense.
Matthews is being a drama queen but he probably reflects the mindset of the DC establishment.
The people in the Federal government and their lackeys in the media aren’t used to being challenged and it has them shook up. I say good. The rest of the country have been paying for their arrogance and stupidity for years, if not decades. Time for them to realize they aren’t new royalty.
