Yes, legally male versus actually male.
When I was three, I thought I was a fire truck — some parents nowadays would have installed a siren and red lights on me. Mental illness is supposed to be treated, not encouraged.
Agreed. In the last year I’ve read about a man in Great Britain (I believe) who loves his pet birds so much that he has altered his head and face to try to look like them. We’re talking colorful, feather tattoos all over, including his eyeballs, and he’s had his outer ears (auricles) surgically removed. Of course, he no longer had anything to hold up his glasses, so he had some kind of metal studs implanted that would do the trick. The guy is a complete nutcase, obviously, but he keeps finding “professionals,” even some doctors, to help him along in his delusions.
Also in the last year, I read about a sighted woman who was convinced that she was meant to be blind. In other words, she felt that she was a blind person trapped in a sighted person’s body. Similar to these so-called transgenders’ belief that they were simply born into the wrong body. Anyway, this woman found some therapist who was actually willing to use chemicals, if I remember correctly, to blind her. She is now blind! And she swears that she is happy and complete now. She is finally living the life she was meant to have. Sick!! And this therapist? I don’t know what ever happened to him or her. Probably rocking along and maiming other delusional patients like it’s no big d.
Two truly stunning cases that I read about not too long ago. And I’m sure there are more to come. I don’t know why these mentally ill folks weren’t stopped from harming themselves. I guess there are no rights and wrongs anymore; only choices. Sad!
