WhiteHouse.gov petition to repeal the Hughes Amendment, aka the Machinegun registry cutoff

This is a petition to the White House to repeal the Hughes Amendment to the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986. This little string of words is the hated piece of law that prevents registration of new MGs, and is the reason for the term "post-86 machinegun."

Click here to let president Trump that you want a your fun switch!

I wouldn't mind owning a rifle with a "fun switch", but it isn't something I would use often. Ammo is expensive. Most of my rifle runs are sighting in. 10 rounds and it's dialed in.

But what about those of us who aren’t very good shots?
I need an M-60 ‘Pig’ Rambo machine to throw out a lot of lead.
Like my AK slidefire, for squirrel hunting!

Getting rid of the regulations on suppressors is much more important, in my view, and is something that the President can get behind without having to pay a steep political price.

Pushing to lift the regulations on full auto rifles is a hill best climbed a little further down the road. There are much bigger fish to fry right now.

I’ve seen Lone Wolf threaded Glock barrels go up in price over the past year.
Wonder if they will go up or down with deregulation.

As Mr. Bernstein says, "They're all electric so they can be fired from inside the vehicle and when I drive downtown I am legal, I'm a class 3 firearms dealer transporting his arms."

I'd love to own a FA H&K trigger pack or two - they fit all the older HK roller-locked and blowback guns of similar pattern (HK91, HK93, MP5). Same thing with the Norrell trigger pack and anti-bounce bolt for the Ruger 10/22. Toys for occasional use.

I did have a weird old Stevens .22 semi-auto that would empty the mag with a single trigger pull if you held it canted at a certain angle. My dad discovered the problem and traded it for a much "safer" Marlin, just to avoid the BATF pulling a "gotcha" on us at the range. That sort of abuse is why the NFA needs to go away or be heavily pruned back.

I signed the petition but agree with you. While both would be good win’s; making suppressors legal would be the higher priority. They should already be legal anyway.

I’d like to see some kind of national CCW permit type thing where if you have a permit to carry concealed in one state; just like a drivers license it’s good in all states. Too bad we couldn’t extend that to Canada and Mexico too.

I need an M-60 ‘Pig’

One of the worst weapons ever. Heavy, badly designed, tend to go runaway. I'd rather have a Ma Deuce, SAW or a Mini gun if I needed a belt fed. I'd love a real M14 though. Only way I could afford a belt fed is to hit the lottery.

Get rid of the WhiteHouse.gov petition pages. This is an embarrassment and most are incredibly anti-President Trump.

You can have your barrel threaded by Tornado Technologies, and they have threaded barrels for sale (Berettas).

I used them for my Beretta Model 87 and they did a beautiful job.

So bad A.....

Bud of mine has a .30 cal 4K/min mini on his jeep with Abram tank sight thermal mounted for seeing at night. Uses it for hog hunting up on the Trinity. Very cool. Will push the Jeep back on flat ground if you do not have the brake set in neutral. You just don't light it up until you got a herd of them or some great big ones.. Like I said, very cool.

Trump talked about passing a national reciprocity act during the campaign. It makes no sense that my carry licesnse isn't recognized by all 50 states, but my driver's license is. My right to carry arms is in the Constitution, while it's silent on my right to drive.

We need to get completely rid of the Gun Control act of 1968 and the National Firearms Act of 1934.

I've had a dirty SKS firing pin empty a mag. Not a pleasant experience. I keep it super clean now. It rarely leaves the safe. A bolt action CZ gets to play with the 7.62x39 ammo now. It's lighter and more accurate.
