Do you think Ivanka cleans her own house?
We have a full wall of floor to ceiling windows/sliders in our den that goes outside. I used to follow along after the grandkids wiping prints. I have a housekeeper now so could care less. Lol

She doesn’t clean her own house. I do—so I am always alert to make things convenient. My only maid is my Roomba. I have tried housekeepers but the experience got on my nerves. Would rather either clean it myself or let it be a mess.

If he’s getting the house at below market rent—he can be TAXED on the difference. And he’s probably accepting a lot of gifts he doesn’t pay taxes on.

My housekeeper comes every 2 weeks......for about 8 years now. I’ll never clean my own house again. If we lived in a smaller house maybe. But my back can’t take vacuuming or cleaning 2000 sq ft. We also have 3 bathrooms that there’s no way I’m scrubbing.
We have a 40 ft sailboat that takes me no time to clean and I don’t mind cleaning it. The house is just too big.

I once went to a get-together at a Virginia farmhouse that has some things in common with Ivanka’s new DC digs. I thought it was very striking then, liked it surprisingly, still do. It was a very old classic “I” layout center hall place, stark white, clapboard. Restored, very well kept.

But, on the rear was a very contemporary addition with a great deal of clear unframed glass to capitalize on the view. Flooring in the original house was oak, flooring in the addition was rough Virginia bluestone. I’d normally hate an unsympathetic modern addition like that, but it was so completely different and the two were blended so well that it worked for some reason.

I see a lot of that in Ivanka’s new house, to the point that I wonder if the same architect wasn’t responsible.

Looks pretty easy to secure from the street, no one’s going to just saunter into that yard.

I am always surprised at similar properties in different areas. This house would be 75% less if it were in Omaha.

$5.5M to them is TrumpChange! har har

Imagine how SS will own that block; glad I’m not a neighbor (as if I could afford it). Too many windows, too many nearby houses. But it is a great ‘hood.

“What are they thinking?”

My question too, in a slightly different context. Photos of their new home, including the interior, published online? And photos online of their children?
Unwise, IMO.

Those kitchen stairs are definitely not kid friendly.

If you look closely, there is a plexiglass wall along the stairs, in lieu of the typical balusters and railing. You might say it's MORE safe, because things won't fall down between balusters to the floor below.

“And bammy bought a house in DC for how much?”

Obummer is only renting the house in D.C. Supposedly until Sasha is out of school. It is having a garage made into an office, with a bathroom, and a huge wall is being built around it for security (and we’re probably footing the bill). I think he’s “feeling the temperature” in D.C. to see if he is still “acceptable” to the public over time. If things start coming out about him, he can vacate in a flash.
