Windows 7 rocks. I tried 10, hated it and had it eat my drivers when I returned to Windows 7. My nightmare is they will try to force the issue and I’ll have to ditch Windows altogether.
“I do love Windows 10. For me it has made Windows into an operating system that I really enjoy using.”
Any article that starts off with this type of BS could only have been written by a complete stooge.
Wish it were true. The CAD CAM FEA software I use daily requires... well.... requires what MS says I require.
I have 6 machines that still use XP that are isolated from the net and they are stable as.....
The software however... There is a shiite relationship that requires both the latest OS and the latest software. M FEA package ended Windows 7 support while at the same time the hardware required ended the FEA software support. SO. I was forced to upgrade to Windows 10 which forced my CNC packages to upgrade to win 10. Anyway it was all a big fn. mess. I still have 2 CNC machines on isolated XP machines (which are rock solid stable) but my FEA CNC CAM CAD packages are all forced to adopt the BS win 10. AND so convenient, the updates killed support for win 7.
Yay....

My desktop automatically updated to Windows 10 (without my approval) and their browser Edge has never worked. I have to reroute everthing to Outlook to view it. What a joke!
I have a few apps that work with WINE. The best part of the Virtual boxes is that once loaded and set up one can clone it and then use that cloned VB. Should the clone crap out, just kill it. Then go back to the initial VB, clone it again and you are off and running again in under 10 minutes. No more hours of loading software and rebooting over and over.
Getting the first VB set up is a bit of a learning experience, but after that a real time saver. VBs can be easily moved to another computer. As always, backing up data is a good idea.j
Windows 10 is a virus that shows up unwanted and unannounced. I still have not found a way to get rid of it so I minimize it and use Chrome. I hate it.
For those of us who stream in Twitch, this is good news. I’ve been streaming with 50 people watching only to have Win 10 reboot and lose everything. Embarrassing!
While browser based software has its own issues, and isn't my favorite way of doing things, I understand why it's done that way. Forcing me to download an app is a step backwards, IMHO.
Not good enough, still not ever going to use Windows 10. I’m sticking with 7/8.1 until the support runs out, then I guess I will have to find some alternative.
Try making Internet Explorer (or any other browser) your default: http://winsupersite.com/windows-10/how-set-your-default-browser-windows-10-just-5-steps
The most annoying feature of WIN10 is that I cannot clear my printer when it is stuck.

Actually, that's EXACTLY what it is. Microsoft is using every lever it can find, to sell more stuff, including corrupting its long-revered Windows desktop as a billboard. What aggravates me are the animations in the tiles. Drives me crazy, and those are the first thing I remove on a new system. I'll never get those stolen minutes of my life back, and it pi$$es me off.
I have set up hundreds (if not thousands) of Windows computers in the last 20+ years, and until Windows 8 and 10 came out, it only took me about 2 minutes to get a fresh system into usable shape. Now, the process is much longer, and more aggravating.
I'm sure Microsoft's focus groups are so pleased.

At first I was looking for the author's "/sarc" tag. But no, it's on the level...
It is fair to say that there are a lot of Windows users who really like Win10. More power to them.
I’m with you. Win 10 is a boondoggle at least and Satan-inspired at worst. Takes way, way too much of my time to keep up with it.
On Win 7 now and probably will be forever. Updates are turned off. It’s easy to pretend Win 10 does not exist.
IMHO, MSFT has invented a huge kludge in Win 10. The longer they fool with it, the more of a kludge it becomes.
Technically they own the software. You purchase the right to use the software this is what is meant by the End User Agreement (EULA). People tend to overlook this fact because they paid for a disk in which comes with software and install it on their system. Since it is their system they believe everything on it is theirs. Unless the end user coded the software under their own name, no software is owned by the end user.
Thus Microsoft owns Windows on each machine.
The Winaero http://winaero.com site is pretty good. Has software you can use and tips to fix annoying things from Window 7 to 10
