This 1984 version is my personal favorite.

The video quality is actually not too good. But it was the only upload of the 84 version that I could find, except for this one with Greek subtitles. On quick check, it appears to be of better quality. And the subtitles really aren’t a problem, at least for me.

I prefer the 1984 version. The whole cast is excellent. I remember when this was originally broadcast on network TV. Network television used to spend money on quality endeavours. No longer, sadly.
We just finished watching that one. George C. Scott is amazing.
Loved Alister Sim also...just too good.
I like this version very much.
But, my favorite of all time is The Muppet Christmas Carol.
Michael Cain is excellent as Scrooge.

One of my favorites at this time of the year. I thought the 1970 Scrooge with Albert Finney was good although it was a musical adaptation.

I may have time to squeeze A Christmas Carol on dvd tonight.
In just a few minutes when my wife gets dinner ready I have Christmas In Connecticut already cued up...Dennis Morgan, Barbara Stanwyck, S Z Sakell and Sydney Greenstreet...great Christmas movie!
There was also an excellent audio version (vinyl, 33 1/3)that I used to play on Christmas Eve when I was working radio in the 70’s.
