I worked with unions throughout my career. Mostly skilled trades people who were fairly easy to manage. I found many who took a kit lot of pride in their work and the bad actors from the union halls were fairly easy to get rid of, because their leaders waned the work. Unskilled laborers (e.g., SEIU) were a pain in the ass.
Me too. Twice actually. I really didn’t want them taking money away from my check because I needed every dime. Plus, when I needed help on a matter, they didn’t help me. This was during my early college years but it was a short time.
One of them was a grocery chain, and everyone at the back hated those guys. The union rep would come in a Mercedes and everyone was mad because they knew their share was going to this creep and his car.
