If these items were discovered by moozlums, they would make a bonfire out of them before dynamiting the caves.

Or like the original find - just pick them up willynilly and let the fragments falling off be carried away by the wind ...

"...More evidence that the atheists will ignore..."

Hmmm...

I enjoy reading about archeological finds, and the light they can shed on history. I enjoy reading about paleontology, astronomy, geology, biology and most fields of inquiry.

By your comment, should I take the unearthing of a Norse prayer book as "evidence" that Thor exists? My guess would be that you don't think so.

All the more reason for archeologists need to step things up over there.

How shortsighted some human beings can be for personal gain.

What history robbers have robbed us of.

I want to read The Gospel of Jesus. The record of his teachings during his 40 days before his ascension. The most important document of his time on earth. I’ll bet the Catholic Church has a copy.

“I want to read The Gospel of Jesus. “
The Joseph Smith thing? Otherwise, what do you mean?

Probably the cave the Bedouins first looted and brought the initial find to light. Due to some Israeli heavy-handedness, they ran away and refused to cooperate with Israeli archaeologists, instead selling most of the scrolls to some Franciscan monks, in whose possession they remained until 1967, when the IDF took possession of the Rockefeller Museum, and let Israeli architects set up shop there. The rest of the scrolls and fragments, in the hands of the Biblical College remained under wraps until 1992, when someone published photographs or micro fische. Don’t recall the details.

A lot of pre-Pauline Christian stuff was unearthed in Cave 4 at Qumran.
