A NATIVITY play was turned into chaos after an asylum seeker stormed the stage and started preaching from the Koran.

The Somali asylum seeker suddenly leapt on stage during the traditional depiction of the Christian story in the Austrian town of Oberndorf near Schwanenstadt in the state of Upper Austria, causing horror and upset amongst the children and parents.

At first, no one had reacted when the asylum seeker came to the venue and stood next to the stage where children of nursery school age were performing.

The Somali man storms the stage

The asylum seeker suddenly leapt on stage, took out a copy of the Koran from his rucksack and started preaching.

The 24-year-old, who was wearing a white robe, was eventually overpowered by a number of men, including two brothers, while he was shouting “Allahu Akbar”.

> The 911 hijackers did several [trial runs].

That was a much more complex operation, and they didn’t let themselves be discovered during the trial runs, which would have only increased precautions. I agree that trial runs are useful in some situations, but not done like this.

A man jumping on stage to reach into a bag of something in front of terrified children and parents doesn't have to be a "complex" operation. All they have to do is test basic security.

You just can't admit you were wrong on this thread, can you? You just can't let it go and admit, graciously, "I was mistaken."

> In ours [our church], the exits are manned by off duty police.

More than one may be useful, but unless worshipers are covered with a drawn weapon as they approach, a single attacker can simply pull out a concealed weapon at the last minute, and shoot the police officer before he can react. For greater safety, security personnel need to be backed up by persons with concealed weapons.

There’s no practical way to make all such gatherings secure, though. If several persons were to coordinate an attack against one, it would be hard to prevent a good many casualties. Fortunately this country has a population of over 300 million, though, and as lamentable as such attacks are, the chances of being killed by one are very small. Nuclear and other high-casualty forms of terrorism concern me more.

That sort of thing could ignite a worldwide cataclysm. I don’t think this country would tolerate American cities being destroyed by nuclear weapons without widespread nuclear retaliation (and I hope persons in power in countries tempted to deliver such weapons to terrorists have enough sense to realize that).

When I think I’m wrong, I admit it. I did so a few posts ago, and even apologized — I see that “Allahu akbar” doesn’t mean “God [or Allah] is great”, as I’d speculated earlier (with the provision, “as far as I know”), but rather “God [or Allah] is greater”, or “God [or Allah] is the greatest”...So I got the translation wrong — sorry about that — but the usage right. As I said, doing that is likely to increase security. Isn’t it? (I don’t recall your graciously admitting you were wrong about anything.)

But...but...our “leaders” reassure us that moozlums are peaceful and peace-loving. Our “leaders” wouldn’t lie to us...would they???

There is no up side to allowing all these refugees to over-run the west. Unlike waves of immigrants and refugees from the past centuries (Jews, Italians, Germans, Irish, et al), these people bring nothing that will enrich our society. If people feel that "something must be done" because they are allegedly "refugees", I fail to understand why they were not all installed in camps similar to military bases until such time as they can be repatriated back to the 7th century hell-holes they came from. the idea that they simply import them and turn them loose on society is amazingly stupid. The people who believe in doing this are either that stupid or they are 5th columnists working to destroy the west.

I’d go with the latter. They are self-loathers who want to destroy themselves. That would be OK but it effects others.

Allahu Akbar means “Allah is greatest” - it literally means that my god is greater than your god.
