In a recent survey of mini-spiral galaxies, astronomers found a unexpected relationship between dark and light matter. The relationship is easy to measure yet impossible to explain using the Standard Model of physics.
Researchers from Italy's International School for Advanced Studies conducted a statistical analysis of three dozen mini-spiral galaxies. Their work revealed a strong correlation between the organization of dark and regular matter in each galaxy.
If, for example, ordinary matter was condensed at the center of a mini-spiral galaxy, so too was dark matter. If the bulk of regular matter was scattered across the outskirts of the galaxy, so too was dark matter.
"We studied 36 galaxies, which was a sufficient number for statistical study," Paolo Salucci, an astrophysicist at SISSA, said in a news release. "By doing this, we found a link between the structure of ordinary, or luminous matter like stars, dust and gas, with dark matter."
The Standard Model assumes most dark matter consists of non-baryonic or weakly interacting massive particles.

“Researchers from Italy’s International School for Advanced Studies conducted a statistical analysis.” Statistics doth not make a real model. It depends on what they are measuring and the assumptions used in the computer model. Every assumption is guaranteed to be based on a universe “billions and billions of years old.” Why not trillions? False premises running rampant. Nonsense.
I have a mini-spiral galaxy in the closet.
I bring it out when we have company.
They’ll be talking about their new granite countertops and I’ll just open up the closet door and say, “Yeah, but we’ve got a mini-spiral galaxy!”
Their new granite countertops don’t look so cool then.
I have expected this all the time.
In a recent survey of mini-spiral galaxies, astronomers found Hillary ‘chithead’ Clinton spinning out of control.
It's also like that with turkey.
If that’s the case, I prefer the dark matter.
Wait until they see my honed meteorite countertops ... they’re out of this world!
YES! - and the cosmological galactic gravy!
:^)
OK, I like it! You have the best post of the day!
CA....
And the Cranberry Nebula Sauce.
Well, THAT explains this year’s election.
Don’t Statistical Mechanics fix that stuff down at the shop? It’s a dirty business. Especially if you do it at home under the shade trees.
The Standard Model of Physics physicists must feel like real silly Billies now.
Even the universe is racist!
“Statistics doth not make a real model.”
The study isn’t trying to build a model. It is presenting results inconsistent with the predictions of the Standard Model. If the results are replicable, then it may be that there is a .9xxx probability that the Standard Model is at least incomplete, if not wrong.
If I’m correct, they have no proof the dark matter exit’s and no idea what it is.
We are members of REASONS TO BELIEVE. IT STARTED WITH Hugh and Kathy Ross. It’s based in California. They join Christianity with science. Dark matter and dark energy are two of the things we study. Check it out. Science and Scripture go hand in hand.
The universe is made of things you can see 5%, and 95% is dark matter and dark energy. Dark energy keeps the universe expanding. Think of dark matter as what hold the universe together, then there are also black holes. This is a Christian group of scientists.
The scholars at RTB are Physicists, Cosmologists, Astronomers, etc. we went to the Austin RTB meeting last Saturday. The speaker was a Physicist from U.T. She told us more about dark matter and energy.
