I despise him because of his huge support for leftist political candidates (he was a major Clinton donor), but he deserves a reprieve from me on this one. :-)

Who started tossing pennies on Franklin’s gravestone anyway?
They should simply put a sheet of plexiglass or fiberglass over the stone to protect it from future coin tossings.

I love the fact that the local church which has Franklin’s grave is in charge of the management of it. This is America. Civil society should be strong and should be the base of people’s relations. It unites people across the political spectrum - and helps define the political spectrum.
Americans accept this as natural. But I tell you, its not like that in other societies. In China, a “founding father’s” grave would be under the control of a central government bureaucracy. Local citizens would have no feeling of control or responsibility over it, because, like everything, it would be a political and bureaucratic matter for the capital to worry about.
and this is the danger of the Left - cultural marxists seek to destroy civil society and replace it with political rule.

He supports Israel and the NYPD also so it isn’t all about support for certain candidates or the leftist party line.
I like a lot of his songs and I like that he’s Italian but he’s a piece of garbage. He put up shelters in my sister’s million dollar home neighborhood and prices are tumbling and crime is up. I wonder if he lives near one. welcome to freerepublic but if you respect Bon Jovi’s views, you might want to review his positions.

it’s funny. I can relate to songs like Badlands and Promised Land. He seems to relate to the common man so well but then he votes for people who don’t care at all about the Common Man.
I may seem crass for asking this, but why couldn’t the Boss have donated the whole $10,000?
