The Burmese python continues to be found in and around Biscayne National Park.
A kayaker, who was paddling around a small platform in Biscayne Bay just east of Mowry Canal, saw a 9-foot-long python curled up on a platform. Soon after, South Florida Water Management District technicians located the snake and quickly removed it.
The python has been relocated and will serve as a training snake to for classes to teach the public about the Burmese python invasion and how to safely capture and remove these nasty invaders.
Biscayne National Park officials ask for everyone to please keep their eyes out for pythons; saying they can occur in places you might not suspect. Report sightings of pythons in and around the park to a park ranger or online.
Does python meat taste like chicken?
Yes, but you don't get any drumsticks.
What if it ate a chicken?

Don’t bother with capture and removal, just kill it.
the word “quickly” to me would involved a hand grenade
When I was about 14, I caught a 5’2” black snake. Handling a snake that size is a difficult task, even for an adult. A 9’ snake would not be something I would want to try, especially a constrictor.

Bet that snake are a lot of segulls
S.Fla went on a Melaleuca tree (Aus. import) removal campaign some yrs. ago when scientists discovered the huge amount of water they pulled out of the ground.
Parrots(S. America) eating the tree fruit. Iguanas, Cuban Lizards also. Imports
Lion fish(Pacific species) are eating all the other young fish in the Caribbean and Fla waters.
Now Burmese Pythons(S. Asia) eating all the mammals, amphibians, anything they can catch in the Everglades.
Moved from there in 1984. No desire to go back.
As we hit the causeway by the big hotels.
“A 9 snake would not be something I would want to try, especially a constrictor.”
It depends. Is that 9’ before or after you cut its head off?
To “cut” his head off you have to either control him or get too dang close. I would consider blasting his head off with a 12 gauge at distance.
Snakes, why did it have to be snakes?
