In a discussion about trusting in God when times are bad in Bible class right now, we learn that Christians are to have a specific trust in God when leaders and/or society are evil. God promises to, in His time, to remove evil and make things right. Throughout history, he has.
Then the thought came out in class which reflects what is happening right now in society. Evil people reject God's Word and the principles found there. So, when events, leadership and decisions don't go their way, evil people panic, have intense anxiety and react in violent, destructive ways. Instead of waiting patiently on people to see the need for God and for Him to act, they have emotional breakdowna requiring "safe places", telephone hotlines and counseling to try and cope.
Some don't adjust and are escalating events to the point of conflict because with no higher power in whom to trust, their world has fallen apart. They are ready to resort to violence. They also accuse the God-fearing people falsely of wanting to do to them what they want to do to us. God help us all.
Is the entire world binary? Is every person either Christian, or evil?
The Lord Himself said, “...he who is not with me is against me.” Matt. 12:30. Question God about that.
I will pray for some huge man sized problems for you today so you have to rely on God............................
I like praying this, it always gets answered.
I have struggled with this mightily, as I want to punish individuals who would seek to harm our nation and those who want to follow Christ. However, I agree that we should walk counterculturally.
My hopes built on nothing less
That how I vote or who is the Pres
I date not trust in any (R)
‘Cause the Eartn will broil and homeless starve!
On getting my way in elections I stand
All other ground is sinking sand!
Once more WITHOUT typos...
My hope is built on nothing less

I dare not trust in any (R)
‘Cause the Earth will broil and homeless starve!

Actually had a very similar discussion recently.
It was in regards to the progressive left Hollywood etc. canceling their fancy Holiday Parties and donating the money to a laundry list of sinful organizations.
The recognition of just how deeply lost in despair many people are through their own rejection of God. They cannot celebrate Christmas. Their ‘first works’ go to sin. There is no hope in their world. If they cannot celebrate the Savior’s birth, surely they will not be there to meet the Bridegroom when He comes.
I likened this display of despair to God showing Christians how He is separating the wheat and chaff.
The time of choosing seems to be upon us. But also realizing the depths of their despair is not just a cultural thing, not just a political thing, but it (satan)darkens all hope, all faith and their very souls.
A bum told me, “God loves you, Bro’.”
Later, I saw him handcuffed as a raving maniac, shrieking at the police taking his 50 foot train of junk.
Such for an honest man, be he a bum or billionaire.
Ever since the apple was plucked from the tree of the knowlege of good and evil we have been forever lost in dualistic thinking, left/right, good/bad, binary same same. Ever since we have been trying to put that darn apple back in the tree. Things are just as they are without our binary viewpoint. We make them good or evil, so don’t make anything. Trust in god and you will perceive clearly
Actually yes. There are only two kingdoms. Kingdom of Light (Yahweh) and the Kingdom of Darkness (Satan). Although Satan is not on the same level as God, in that God is Creator, Satan is creation.
Distraught? Find comfort in knowing that
when God lets bad things happen to good people,
he balances it out by letting good things happen
to bad people. You’re welcome.
we should walk counterculturally
Well said.
Pfffffthahahahahahahahahahahaha!
I love it!
Under the monicker ‘evil people’, I will view that, as ANYONE who is not a christian, since this was inserted as: ‘a discussion at church’.
I will tell you, that for all the years i have so far lived, and yes, i am older than a millenial, those ‘evil people’ that aggressively act out their frustration, are the un-mentored, and those not taught any patience or restraint from their birth parents, which are character flaws shown by many people, and not just ‘evil people’.
There are many REALLY ‘evil people’ in the world, that you would be in line with, at the coffee shop, the donut shop, or even sit next to, at the neighborhood diner.
Since ‘you’ are inconsequential to them, ‘you’ won’t know they are there. And, if ‘you’ ARE going to be of consequence to them, ‘you’ still won’t know that, until that moment of ‘their’ choosing, and place.
Just remember, there is a lot unsaid, in that little sentence about ‘doves’ and ‘serpents’.
Good take on the subject.
Thank you. I do believe the analysis to be correct.
