No, I don't have a link and I am not spreading misinformation.
I am recounting my actual experience as a passenger, when I heard the announcements over the speakers prior to takeoff, on round trip flights to and from Ft. Lauderdale, and then another round trip flight to Dulles International airport a couple of weeks later. Both trips were in October 2016.
I have no idea whether Jet Blue has changed that policy, but I can bear witness that it was the policy in effect at the time I traveled.
I remember wondering what I would have done if I had been carrying a Samsung phone, since there was no advance notice going through security.

It's not all Samsung phones, just the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, but some airlines have been a bit over zealous in their screening.
