I know. . . sorry I didn't reference your link. I was explaining for those who never click links. My bad. I also pointed out that the engineers who did the tear down were not certain whether or not the batteries in the samples they bought had not already had expanded. . . but they were already at the extreme range of the room available for expansion.
My basic point was the rate of failure was fairly steady in the initial reports and that Samsung could not afford to allow an on going experiment in the wild to see if that statistical rate would continue.
