Godspeed, John Glenn, but you sorely disappointed when you sold your soul to Bill Clinton for one last ride into space.

Regardless of his misguided political views I consider him a patriot. I wish him and his family well.

Given Glenn's age (95), he has truly lived an amazing and long life. One really wonders why Glenn wasn't chosen to fly any of the Gemini missions or even the early Apollo missions.

First man to orbit the earth. Not everyone gets to say that.
He’s had a pretty full life. Marine pilot, astronaut, senator. Went back to space as a sitting senator. Another first and only.

Might disagree with the man's politics, but I admire and respect the man.
73 years of marriage...WOW!!!
I honestly hope and pray that he KNOWS the one true God.

John Glenn's politics have nothing to do with the soul and spirit of the adventurous man.
I was young and alive when He went into space and I, like so many other young boys, fantasized about space travel .... so our generation did the natural thing ...
Created Barbarella.

He was one of my heroes as a boy when he was an astronaut, then as a Senator he helped scuttle the investigation of Chinese money financing Clinton’s campaign, forever changing my opinion of the man.

I will have to say that John Glenn was always something of an iconic enigma to me....
.... A great warrior
A brave, brave man.
...And yet his political views were so out of line with his character
It’s still a mystery
Godspeed John Glenn.

As with “Duke” Cunningham I will salute his service for our country rather than condemn his failings in Congress.

Not the most dramatic thing he did, but my favorite thing he did was a coast to coast flight in an F-8 Crusader. Afterburner the whole way except 3 refueling. 3 hours and 23 minutes.
That was back in the days when a civilian would still be a chance to hear sonic booms.

Everyone dies. If they are lucky it is from old age.
John Glenn has been worthless to me since the Keating Five.
His accomplishments as an astronaut were not a license to commit crimes, nor did they make his politics any more palatable.

He leaves behind an ambiguous legacy, even after his military and NASA service. He turned into a politically hack who cravenly prostrated himself for a return to space.

He's the last surviving Mercury Seven astronaut.

Nice double entendre there, “grave condition.” Is that like “shovel ready”?
