The Danish Medical Association (Lægeforeningen) has recommended that no boys under the age of 18 be circumcised in Denmark.
The association released its recommendation on Friday, saying that circumcision should be “an informed, personal choice” that young men should make for themselves.
In a press release, the group said that when parents have their male children circumcised, it robs the boys of the ability to make decisions about their own bodies and their own cultural and religious beliefs. …

The US has practiced mass circumcision looong before the Obama era Muslim immigration wave. Muslims copied that tradition from the Jews. Given the positive effects of male circumcision, no society anywhere should ban male circumcision. Another example of Europe idiocy.

I play racquetball with a urologist. As part of his internship, he led a team to encourage circumcision in Africa to prevent AIDS. Huge success.

Those born today who will encounter an infection or worse later on in life will be woeful of such a decision, and frankly, Doctor’s who don’t offer the operation at birth as a prevention to a lifetime of worry are derelict.
If circumcision and kosher food are outlawed, as is becoming the case in most of western Europe, then Judaism, per se, can no longer be practiced there; Jews will have to travel to other countries to have their children circumcised, and pay to import kosher food.
And I think that is a hidden (perhaps even from its exponents) goal.
I know a rabbi who performs circumcisions on occasion. He makes quite a few tips.

The OB/GYN who delivered my son was a Jewish man. It may have been racist of me but I felt like that made him pretty darn well qualified when he did the circumcision for us!
After the delivery, we chatted a little (he had to sew me up a bit) about how his grandfather survived the Holocaust by hiding out in farmers’ fields.

problem is that in the name of “fairness,” aka PCness, the European bureaucraps can’t just ban Islamic circumcision rather than all circumcision (which hurts good religions), or ban halal outright instead of a blanket ban in which halal is included but good religions (Judaism) get screwed.
Many would be begging for the snip after a hot summer. Have posted before about the the guys I served with that had to medevac to the hospital ship offshore when the itch got intolerable.

As someone who had it done on the eighth day, you certainly do not speak for me, with all due respect. Now the new covenant is more about circumcision of the heart, which is mentioned in the Old Testament too (Leviticus 26:41, Deuteronomy 10:6 and 30:6, Jeremiah 4:4), but that does not make the sign of the old covenant suddenly an exercise in barbarism.
