Yikes. Running out of fuel in the mountains?

Sabotage or gross incompetence in loading fuel or inspecting fuel system integrity. No commercial flight should ever run out of fuel. Running out of fuel in the mountains leads me to believe option 1.

The airline should be bombed by F15 strikers. What murder that was.

yup, the one thing you can count on when you run out of fuel in a plane, you also run out of air

Yep. Like the Skynard accident this will go down as one of the worst examples of pilot error in the history of aviation.

When this story broke I figured it would be gross pilot error. But to run out of fuel? Beyond stupid... unthinkable.

Well, there’s always the Gimli Glider. No fuel, and everyone survived.

On the other hand, they had a bit more preparation and room than this flight.

And daylight, and good wx, and flatlands, and a runway close by.

From the looks of the crash, it did not appear there were much of any flames.... Which if they were on empty would give credibility to this thought.

http://fusion.net/story/372628/these-haunting-images-show-brazilian-soccer-team-hours-before-they-died-in-plane-crash/

Pictures of the team getting on board and before take off.

The plane had the club logo on it; so it was the club’s plane itself? I know fuel gauges should be checked and are accurate but something went very wrong here.

It’s unfathomable and shocking.
