Syrian army advance threatens to cleave eastern Aleppo

Syrian government forces advanced deep into eastern Aleppo on Sunday amid a swift collapse of rebel defenses inside the divided northern city, threatening to cleave the opposition’s enclave between its northern and southern parts.

The advance into the city’s Sakhour neighborhood brings the military within less than .6 miles of commanding a corridor in eastern Aleppo for the first time since rebels swept into the city in 2012 at the start of the Syrian civil war

It's CBS, so lots of pro ISIS spin but they can't cover up the fact that the ISIS Aleppo pocket is collapsing.

some 1,700 civilians had fled to areas under government control

What? They didn't flee to areas under militant terrorist control? Obama and McCain must be heartbroken. To say nothing of the CIA and Green Berets providing support to the Islamic militants.

That's the plan.

Divide Aleppo and isolate the ISIS Jihadi alone in a pocket with as few civilians as possible so the Syrians can wipe them out in detail.

Yep. And remember, ISIS will kill anyone they catch trying to leave. They have basically hijacked a city and are holding the people hostage.
