FULL TITLE: Grieving mother of three bus crash victims says she REPEATEDLY warned school that the arrested driver would 'drink on the bus, cuss and speed'
The heartbroken mother-of three children who were victims in a school bus crash has spoken out about her attempts to report the bus driver for reckless driving.
Jasmine Mateen said that since the school year started in August, her children have come home each day complaining about their bus driver.
'I have been calling complaining about this bus driver since August,' she told NBC News.
Mateen said she called the Board of Education and Woodmore Elementary School and even wrote letters to the school and to the bus driver, Johnthony Walker.
Walker has been arrested and charged with five counts of vehicular homicide after the bus crashed and killed five children and injured 23 more on Monday afternoon.
One of those victims was Mateen's six-year-old daughter, who has not been identified.

Torture penalties seem appropriate for such perps.
It does seem that this accident is a symptom of a near-total breakdown of behavioral expectations.
Prayers for this lady and for the families and friends of all the bus crash victim.
This is outrageous that she tried to get this bus driver relieved of his duties but was ignored!!!!! Sue the school administrators!!!
Sounds like a very large lawsuit is forthcoming... or at least should be.
Needs to be executed ASAP!!! WHO the HELL HIRED THAT GUY? Execute them also!
Wow, this takes the cake for stupid journalism. How many six year old daughters could Mateen have possibly had?
I wonder if she was the only parent who complained. It sounds like a lawsuit against the school district is in order, and the more parents who made formal complaints, the stronger the case would be.
My heart breaks for this woman. The death of the children is beyond horrible but to know on top of it that it could have been prevented makes it a horror beyond words.
My God comfort her.
A school bus driver named Johny Walker? Is this the Simpson’s? If this poor mother’s story is true then the school and management is in deep trouble.
Condolences and best wishes to all the families.
The “bus driver” looks like a retarded JB! Only in the current “Age of Stupid” would a school hire something like him.
Part of the problem with the Welfare State —
The school system needed a bus driver, and (apparently) didn’t get a lot of applications (most folks perfectly happy to sit at home and wait for the check). In the end, they had to choose a guy who:
a) Looked like a freak.
b) Just got his license.
c) Had one accident already.
d) Drank and cursed (so they say) on the job.
e) Had been complained about.
But, since he was the best they could possibly find, they kept him on the job until a bunch of kids were killed and more kids were injured.
In the absence of government handouts, you’d have a more people trying to get and keep these jobs. Instead, we scrape the bottom of the barrel.

Agreed according to the beginning of the article she was the mother of three of the victims.
Later it states this One of those victims was Mateen's six-year-old daughter, who has not been identified.
I’m in Tennessee and I sympathize with this mess. I was about that little girl’s age back around 1981 when I was in the 2nd grade and told to ride the school bus home. The damn thing was so overcrowded that I had to sit on another older child’s lap and nearly fell to the floor a few times. Having had it with that one harrowing and uncomfortable ride, I told my mother I wouldn’t do it again.
However, the next day she didn’t pick me up, so I decided to walk home myself across and down a major highway (not an interstate). A couple of cars saw me, this little kid of 7, walking down this highway and stopped to try to pick me up, with one taking me home. Nearly caused a riot the next day with the teachers and principal when they learned what I did (but I did not apologize and said I would do it again rather than ride an overcrowded bus). Needless to say I never rode the bus again for the next 3 years until the 5th grade, when we were sent downtown to an inner-city school due to the forced integration order.
The school district hired Durham School Servuces, which operates in at least 5 states. And has quite an accident record.
Why would the mother still put her children on that bus with that driver, when she Knew the driver was a problem?
Because she trusted the school system. As all loyal subjects should.
I thought it was a Snoop Dog.
Maybe she had no other choice.
