Things were chaotic at that point as the mad scramble in response to the initial shot fired by Oswald.

It is possible that those around the agent who fired the head shot were sworn to secrecy about what they saw or heard shortly thereafter.

There is NO WAY the SS would admit complicity in Kennedy's murder. That would've been the END of the Secret Service.

I don't know the details, but I DO know there was a least one agent with an AR-15. Here he is:

I do believe that when the chase cars began to speed up after Oswald's neck/shoulder shot on Kennedy, the car lurched causing the agent to inadvertently pull his trigger.

I used to be into all the conspiracy theories. It's kind of fun to feel you have gleaned some secret knowledge that the rest of the public does not know about. I now believe Oswald acted alone. There is a great deal of evidence to support that he did, and only a bunch of half-baked theories that someone else did it.

There were more than a few witnesses who had been around guns all their lives in Dealy Plaza, none has ever said anything that would even remotely validate the SS gun accident theory. At any rate, IMO, I’d say the notion is barking up the wrong tree.
