I’m pretty sure “Candida” was a 1969 release.

Good tune - Tony Orlando could sing!

I once heard that Tony Orlando & Dawn had 2 hit records before Tony ever actually met the 2 singers in Dawn. They do not sing on this song, IIRC.

They are collectively "Dawn". I had the same problem trying to figure out which guy on the stage was "Pink" when performing the song "Money".

The two ladies collectively were a group called “Dawn”.
Their names were Telma and Joyce.

One of them, Telma Hopkins, went on to work as an actress in sitcoms.

I remember Telma Hopkins as an actress when I was a kid. I had no idea until now that she’d been part of Dawn (they were a little before my time). That is very cool; thanks for sharing!

"Candida" was released in 1970. The group Dawn didn't actually exist at first--it was Tony Orlando backed by studio musicians. The year before, Tony and a group of studio musicians made the top 30 with "Make Believe," released under the name Wind.

Ok, thanks, I knew it wasn’t as late as ‘72.
