The Mission of the Grand Theatre is to foster Cultural, Educational and Economic Development in the Greater Douglas Community.
The Grand Theatre, located in Douglas, Arizona, has been the focus of the Douglas Arts and Humanities Association (DAHA) since the mid-1970’s. During that time, the Grand was acquired, debris removed, utility services restored and the building is now structurally stabilized. DAHA has, over the years, implemented Arts and Humanities program within the community. Please explore our website and join us in the effort to help improve the quality of life in the Douglas region.

The Babe Vindiola Endowment For the Arts
The Babe Vindiola Endowment for the Arts was established in 2009 by the Vindiola family. The purpose of the endowment is to provide scholarship assistance to students of the arts receiving private lessons through the Douglas Conservatory. The Douglas Arts and Humanities Association, Inc. administers the Endowment. Read more
The History of the Grand Theatre
The Grand Theatre is a jewel of Southwest architecture and a priceless piece of Arizona history. It was built in 1919 and has seen the likes of Ginger Rogers and John Philip Sousa grace its stage. Unfortunately, since the building closed in 1958, it has fallen into a state of disrepair and is badly in need of restoration to make it sparkle again. Read more
The Restoration
When someone walked into the Grand Theatre over a decade ago he or she immediately knew who had last flocked into the once-opulent building … pigeons. Bird droppings and heaps of timbers and roofing detritus littered the lobby and once high-ceilinged auditorium. The Grand Theatre, opened in 1919 and once host to the who’s who of Vaudeville, was but a ghost of a glamorous past. We welcome you to participate in her re-birth.
