I don’t know for sure, but I’m pretty sure no one wants it installed at Arlington. Which many of us consider a sacred burial site.
Arlington National Cemetery is well established in a small, well defined area of ~600 acres.
Hawaii (the big island) a large island of ~4,000 sq miles.
Thrown into the active caldera, maybe, but the old Hawaiians did not seem to be big on climbing to the top of the peak with dead bodies.

False equivalence bullcrap. They consider an entire volcano holy. That’s crap and you know it. Arlington is tiny, and yes we keep it. But we don’t decide that 30 miles around it is holy.
Those pagans cannot point you to a single burial site there and its a dead solid bet that the telescope was sited nowhere near anywhere an ancient Hawaiian ever stepped.

Then I guess it comes down to who owns the land. If it ain’t their tribal land, they get no say.
