They didn’t find out while the plane was in the air. Once it was on the ground, different story.

BTW, I don’t believe for one second there was no wifi on her plane. Someone found out what was going on, told her, and the wifi was turned off so reporters couldn’t find out and ask her anything until they had time to come up with a cover story.
