Tesla has scored extremely poorly in terms of reliability in the latest survey published by Consumer Reports. The 2016 Annual Auto Reliability Survey was taken out by Lexus, with Toyota, Buick, Audi and Kia in the top five spots. Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat and Ram on the other hand all from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles took honours for worst-in-show, which had around 500,000 respondents in this years survey.

MSRP for the cheapest Model X is $74,000

Not surprised.
Read an account of an electrical component failing in a leased vehicle.
Took a month for the part to arrive. No similar model loaners available.
So essentially this guy spent $950 that month for the car to sit in his driveway unusable.

First, there’s the usual hazards of new models and new factories, then there’s arrogance of Musk and politically correct mangement. And then, how many of the problems are due to sabotage by California workers demanding unionization?
In the price range Tesla plays in, it’s an also-ran.

If only Obama would give him another billion tax dollars he could fix this.

My diesel, which I bought new for *much* less than $74K,is rated at 45mpg Highway and does,in fact, get 53mpg with the cruise control set at 70MPH.It has a 14.5 gallon tank which means a range of about 700 miles. When it needs "recharging" I can do it in about 5 minutes at any one of 40,000 recharging stations coast-to-coast (not all stations sell diesel).
Never in a million years would I consider buying a Tesla at $37K,let alone $74K.

A fool and his money will soon part.
A while back I was behind a Tesla at a stop light. What stuck me was the poor fitting of the trunk. From my car I could see that the gaps were off and that is pretty bad. Just like the 70’s Detroit garbage.
Another interesting statistic I read is it takes 1000lb’s of LiOn battery to equal 1.8 gallons of gas in stored energy. Even if a gas motor was only 25% efficient which it is not, there is just no comparison.

Very impressive on a warm day doing it 4 times. Try doing it 5 times. You’ll be pushing it the 5th time.

Also, there's a Tesla “dealership” in the mall in my town. The mall is rather upscale (Gucci,Hermes, etc) and is very popular in the area.In all the times I've walked past this “dealership” I've never seen more than two customers inside. And,as I suggested, many of the shoppers at this mall probably have the resources to pay $74K for a car (lots of German cars in the lots...if you catch my drift).

I just saw one on a flatbed yesterday. Wondered whether it ran out of juice or was broke.

Why would Buick score better than GMC and Chevrolet with whom they share platforms (Acadia, Enclave, Traverse)?
