I've spent a fair amount of time in the UAE which borders on Saudi Arabia,is run much like Saudi and is populated by people very similar to Saudis.When I see the natives in their expensive Italian or German cars and their expensive shoes and handbags it's easy for me to imagine them,50 years ago,wandering the desert (it's a desert country just like Saudi) with nothing but their goats and camels for company.

To give an example of what I'm saying....they show camel races and falcon competitions on their TV.The falcon stuff is pretty silly and the camel races are absolutely hysterical!

If it wasn't for the oil they'd be living like the savages they actually are.
