Who knows how they will react, until the time comes.
I know James Yeager is controversial, but he makes an important point about two types of active shooter: 1) disgruntled loner “school shooter” type vs 2) jihadist mass murderer.

Yeager makes the point that when the “school shooter” meets any armed resistance, they almost always just shoot themselves.
By contrast, the jihadist will fight to the death. They may kill themselves, but only by a suicide bomb when they can take more with them.
The risks to a concealed carrier engaging a “school shooter” vs a jihadist are very different.
Extremely unlikely.
Don’t know what I’ll be doing during it, but I have a pretty good idea what I’ll be doing after -if I survived:
Throwing up.
Going into shock.
Calling Second Call Defense.
Involvement in an active shooting situation is optional. I would try to defend others as well as myself, but unless confronted by the shooter or saw something that made me change my mind, I would retreat. Maybe if brave and safe, I might cause a diversion (firing a safe shot from a distance and cover with no one behind) in the shooter's direction.
MY CPL is not a commitment to protect and serve anyone besides myself and those I love. If people want to be safe they need to take responsibility for their own safety an get their own CPL
This isn’t a gun question. It’s a spiritual question.
You either believe that “love one another” thing Jesus said, and see everyone as your family, or you don’t.
Nothing else need be said.
There are those who run TO danger and those who do not
Nope. I’m a scardy Kat.
Every situation is different, but some may argue that you have a moral obligation to prevent something bad from happening if you have the means and opportunity to do so.
1) Stay alive.
2) Keep my loved ones alive.
3) Keep others alive
4) Kill the braindead sh_tstain.
The first two are inextricably intertwined. I stay alive to keep them alive. If I escape and take them with me and have time to go back for others, I will. But it's unlikely I'll go back to do the cops' job for them.
On the other hand, if the POS makes 1 or 2 impossible, then 4 becomes a much higher priority.

The compact “carry” handgun is a very short range weapon.
Only a complete fool would attempt a long range shot to take out a mass shooter. It would risk an innocent death, and a manslaughter conviction for you.
If you are not close enough for a high percentage shot, the best policy would be lay low behind cover for a better opportunity to develop.
Heroics can be very foolish.
.
I honestly think I would...I’ve thought about many scenarios and what I could do....
I totally agree. CC is for your own safety. Running to the sound of gunfire is for cops and warriors. I am neither. If the shooter is between me and the door well that’s another story. Otherwise I’m running for an exit.
No, I would be huddled under a table in fetal position.
IMHO, a huge problem would be engaging while the LEO arrive. You would likely be kilt by the LEO.
No. Decided long ago, the *others* I thought I would protect/save are worthless HRC voters. Definitely. Nope.
