Anyone who grew up on the left coast and is old enough to remember grilling Abalone steaks for lunch right there on the dive boat off Catalina island should try dipping french fries in vanilla ice cream.

And anyone who has never had Abalone should try it, too - to find out what Abalone tastes like.

Yum!

I LIKE Wendy’s FROSTYS! Choklit. If I ever have up to 3
Frostys in a week; my chocolate headaches (migraines) will
kick in. After I finally realized I was sensitive to
THEOBROMINE (in chocolate and shellfish), I discontinued
them for about 6 yrs. Now, I can have a Frosty or two in
a week; but shellfish I don’t dare. The last time I had
two fried shrimp; it was Migraine City. :o(

Nothing new. I like bacon bits and strawberry ice cream.

I have been doing a variation of that for over 5 decades:

Soft vanilla ice cream using potato chips as spoons.

Tastes better than it sounds — the sweet and salty.

I remember Wendy’s “Biggie” fries. They were like steak fries and delicious. Then they tampered with their recipe twice and now I find the fries to be poor by comparison.

I agree with you that salty and sweet can be tasty. I’m having a salted caramel coffee as I write this.

But dunking fries in a milk shake ... BLEECH!

Ketchup is OK, but a mix of ketchup, malt vinegar, and hot sauce is even better.

Mayonnaise on fries can be truly decadent.

But may favorite fry topping of all ... Cajun remoulade sauce! Creamy and tangy!

We did that in their chocolate milkshakes in the 60s. Tasted good.
