I grew up very near there, right by the Walnut Creek station.
Glad Jelle is going to be okay.

The HUMAN
victim in the initial stabbing, which involved a weapon other than the shears, is in stable condition at a hospital I'm far more interested in the fate of this turd's HUMAN victims than I am in the fate of a mere beast.

"As much as we love our dogs, a police canine is not considered an officer," he said. "Officers aren't going to shoot just because the dog is getting stabbed." Correct.

“Blakely said he didn’t yet have the details about what happened next, but two officers shot the suspect, who was taken to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and later died”
Interesting. Apparently they know he stabbed someone earlier, know that they took a good while to locate him, knows it was in a yard of a homeowner not associated with the man, knows officers deployed the k9 unit to try to subdue the man, know that the dog was stabbed, know that the dog was stabbed with garden shears, knows that the garden shears were a different weapon than the original stabbing, but does not know the circumstances of the officer involved shooting, but does know that both officers fired their weapons and knows they both hit him.
Interesting.

This happened near where I live last year. The Deputies had a guy cornered in a barn or shed. The guy grabbed the K9 and started stabbing him and he was immediately gunned down. Where I live K9s are treated as officers. The LEOs love their dogs. And Horses.
