Ammon Bundy testified that were "men in the trees and everywhere else" when police surrounded the Jeep he was riding in to a community meeting in John Day on Jan. 26.
"I believed my life was in extreme danger if I moved in any way," Bundy said Thursday, his third day on the witness stand in his federal conspiracy. "I didn't even reach to pick up my hat in the seat next to me because I was afraid I'd get shot"....
They had him lying handcuffed on his back on the ground before he was taken about nightfall into a van, where he first saw two people who had been riding in the truck of occupation spokesman Robert "LaVoy" Finicum ahead of them.
"Victoria Sharp and Shawna Cox were in the van. Ryan and LaVoy were not," he said. "They very emotionally told me LaVoy had been shot."
Assistant U.S. Attorney Ethan Knight objected, and U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown sustained it. It was the first of many similar objections that followed.
Bundy....described his training sessions on land rights and he showed jurors videos of their prayer sessions and videos and photos of his visits with ranchers from the community.....
While Bundy said he believes in the right of people to bear arms, he said her personally "never made it a practice" to carry a gun.....

Since his involvement in the 2014 standoff with federal agents at his father's ranch near Bunkerville, Nevada, Bundy said he's flown about 40 times. Each time, he said, he was taken aside and strip searched.....

Judge Anna Brown continued her harassment of witness testimony from Bundy and others including LaVoy Finicum's widow, Jeanette.
Brown has not allowed Bundy to quote from the Bible or the Constitution during his testimony.
The judge said no one could question Mrs. Finicum about her husband's death.
Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore told the court she went to the protest after being informed that no laws were being broken, drawing a rebuke from Judge Anna Brown for saying that.
Supporters who witnessed the trial yesterday and posted videos were very optimistic about how the trial went, believing that the jury heard Ammon's side of the story in spite of the judge's efforts to suppress it.
Kelli Stewart said she believed the jurors were awake and listening.
The trial will resume Tuesday of next week with sessions also scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
Videos from those who witnessed the trial yesterday are posted at these Facebook pages.

Seems to me like that there were Government Assassins in the trees as well as Government Assassins in the Courts.
Another fix is in by the blackrobed tyrant. An essential lynching for a minor offense.
The feds learned their lesson at the standoff. They won’t be caught like that again.
Interesting piece about side pay for judges, and a mysteriously dead defense attorney in a Judge Brown case:
