People in Switzerland travel by plane twice as much as their neighbors and should cut down on flights to help the environment, according to a spokesperson for the Switzerland-based World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

Pierrette Rey was speaking at a summit of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal, Canada, where representatives of 191 countries gathered to agree an initiative aimed at controlling emissions and carbon offsetting in the airline industry.

So far 63 countries have opted to join the plan, WWF said.

But according to Rey, WWF fears the voluntary agreement won’t do enough to protect the environment and a better solution would be to cut down the number of flights, newspaper Le Matin reported on Friday. …

You know who else flies too much?

Folks like Leonardo Di Caprio, AlGore, Chelsea Clinton, Alec Baldwin etc. and the rest of the Limousine Leftist Global Warming Fools who all fly their big private planes (and they don’t even share the ride with each other) to go to Global Warming Propaganda Fest to lecture us peasants about our cars, our lawn mowers, our air conditioners and flying commercial packed like sardines in a can.

Everyone who believes CO2 is a dangerous pollutant should be restricted from flying, “to save the planet”.

The freedom to travel is one of the biggest freedoms. This is all about curtailing freedom.

I wonder how flying compares in fuel efficiency to driving, assuming the same number of people travel?

Restriction on travel is of course a restriction on freedom. But inherent in the global warming scam is the concept of limiting freedom through rationing. The government will decide how much you “need.” Energy, housing, food, education, and yes, information. Forget property and firearms, they won’t be rationed. They will be banned.

People who are subject to rationing are not free.

People in Switzerland travel by plane twice as much as their neighbors and should cut down on flights to help the environment, according to a spokesperson for the Switzerland-based World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

The spokesman went on to say that the only people who should be allowed to fly are Leonardo DiCaprio and Chelsea Clinton since they need to jet off in private planes to environmental conferences in exotic locales, where they come up with condemnations for ordinary folks for trying to enjoy things like air flight, and demand new regulations and taxes to keep us in our place.

Everyone who believes CO2 is a dangerous pollutant should be restricted from flying, “to save the planet”.

I am all for it. Everyone should be forced to answer this question before they are allowed to board a flight. Statistics can then be collected about how many people really believe that CO2 is a “dangerous pollutant”.

We must ban flying...for the planet!! The Wright Brothers should be criminals if WWF has its way.

Or maybe Gustave Whitehead (Connecticut's air pioneer) will be labeled as a criminal too...

It’s worse than that. They helped create the madness and now we read they are building fancy schmancy underground bunkers to hide from the inevitable results.

NB: “People in Switzerland”, not “Swiss people”. It’s all the elitists with Swiss residences flying to and from their actual countries.
